Agree, but I’m afraid that’s already happened.

It may be a regional sport, but it's OUR regional sport.

And it's still "the national pastime".

Are these #'s paid attendance or actual

All are paid attendance, been that way for years. Some schools reported both for a while.

I remember State being one of the last to use actual attendance when others were using tickets sold, then we joined the others. I was arguing on the message boards to use paid to keep up with y'all.

I believe State may have undercounted our recent 16k record. There were rumors we sold over 19,000 tickets. It was crazy packed. Even at 16,432, that would mean almost 9,000 people didn't have chairback seats and were in the left field lounge, sitting on the grass berms, or standing. There were definitely thousands standing all the way around the field on our concourse. We took a lap around and could barely get through.

Cute story, but here are the numbers from the NCAA. State did lead in attendance, but average was no where near 14k.

I know there is a ton to do in California, but there are also a ton of people out there, too. With the great teams they have had over the year as well as their large student bodies, Its amazing what apathy UCLA,Southern Cal, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton "fans" have for their programs.

It's interesting out there. UCLA students and SC students can't live close to campus if they don't live on it. LBSU and Fullerton really don't have much of a fan base and the students couldn't care less about athletics. Commuter schools.

Arizona is interesting because they used to draw pretty well when the stadium was on campus. Now it is a couple of miles away in a park that used to be the minor league park. They will probably draw if they get dominant again.

ASU? 80% of the people in the Phoenix area are from someplace else now. Only pay attention to ASU if they are really good.
