Maybe the problem with some of these District Judges is they like you, think they are above criticism (reproach). Surely we are not at a point in this country where we can't criticize elected or appointed officials.
No one is above criticism. I can't believe I have to explain this, but saying someone took money in return for using his office to punish someone is not a criticism. It's an accusation.
I haven't always agreed with Judge Coogler, not by a long shot. But one thing I know about him, is he has spent his entire life acquiring a reputation for honesty, integrity and legal scholarship.
Why would you defend an anonymous poster who so cavalierly attacks the integrity of man about whom he has no personal knowledge? Are you completely devoid of any notion of old fashioned honor? In your world is it acceptable to just throw out any accusation whatsoever? Is that the kind of person you are?

Very simply, the antiquated notions that are clung to by those in the legal profession are not observed by the general public. Maintaining a sense of decorum and giving the position of Federal District Judge the deference that it commands is a foreign concept. The legal community is the last bastion of a by-gone age.

how is this starting rumors when the Bamerham news posted this as breaking news on their website. Domonic Lee's mom is the one you should be saying is starting rumors.

Using the word admit in your title is how this is taken as spreading a rumor. The word admit, without any coloful adverbs like "falsely" or "wrongfully" implies that what follows it is true. So you chose the word 'admits' to imply it something was true that is not true nor implied by that story and then say that you aren't starting a rumor? I liked you better when you were CPA. At least then you had a shitty reputation behind all your stupid posts so no one could take you seriously. I guess I could be thankful. You making posts like this will only soil this alter's reputation as much as you soiled the CPA username.

quote:While you probably have noble reasons for making this statement, BamaJD has equally noble reasons for making his. There are people in the legal community who have integrity and there are judges who are honorable and honest. To make a blanket judgement of the entire legal community based on limited experiences or anecdotal stories about corrupt lawyers and judges is intelluctually dishonest. It inherently degrades those individuals in the profession who still live and follow those rules.

You interpreted my comments incorrectly. BamaJD asked why the poster would besmirch the good name of the judge. I simply answered his question. You and I are in concert as far as our opinions on the legal community are concerned.
