No one thinks Auburn is as good as it gets except Auburn fans. And homer Auburn fans at that. Most people know the politics are a mess.
Pretty sure it has a little bit of a reputation right now of being a career killer. Pat Dye couldn't get a job after being there because of the cheating, Bowden (LOL), Tubbs is now at Cincinatti, and Chizik is a joke.
According to Wayne Flynt, Shug was run off by the Dye faction...
I just don't really think many people look at that and think it's that appealing.

Dude…in those 40 years Alabama and Auburn did not play, you were shite. In the mean time, Alabama was making a national name for itself in the Rose Bowl. There is no way in hell things would be any different than they are now. In fact…Alabama would probably have a better record over Auburn because Auburn did not start to gain any sort of relevance at all until Shug Jordan showed up in 1951.
