Stallings coached at Bama just 7 seasons yet is universally beloved and has a statue. Perhaps you are familiar with the work he has done on behalf of children with disabilities, inspired by his son John Mark, who was also loved by all at Alabama.

Stallings left early in part because of probation (fans begged for him to come back after Dubose). Can you think of a coach who was at a school for 7 years and won 1 title who is more of a revered and beloved figure?

Has no bearing on future success.

Notre Dame has a great history yet hasn't won a major bowl game in 30 years.

Exactly the point, history only takes you so far.

However, Notre Dame homers talk a lot like Alabama homers.

Muh history.

Muh we can get anyone we want.

If Bama is smart they retire Saban and hire Mike Elko next season.

That would be incredibly dumb, Elko has a very small body of work as a head coach.

I remember when Dave Aranda was the next big thing and he may get fired this year.

I certainly hope Bama does a better job of replacing Saban than other places have done.

It will be interesting to see.

Dabo seems to be the obvious choice but if I'm an Alabama fan, I'm not liking that at all. And Josh Pate may be correct that Dabo may be retiring soon.

After that, I'm not sure. Kirby definitely isn't coming, Lanning may if he wants to be in the SEC that bad, but who knows.

Some guys will definitely be getting raises to stay at their jobs.
