Bama & making the CFP

Preface: IMO, this Bama team doesn't deserve to be in. HOWEVER,...
1 - It's never been about "deserves". The marching orders to the committee were "pick the 12 "best" teams ..... irregardless of i) W/L record, ii) conference, iii) match-ups, iv) blow-outs, etc. Prime example: FSU 2023 (most deserving, unbeaten, conf. champion,... definitely not top-4 at end of season).
2 - Even those who don't want Bama in would admit (if they're honest) that Alabama IS one of the 12 best teams. IMO, on any given night, they "could" end up being THE best (see Ga v. Bama 1st-half). They're a Jekyll/Hyde team & everything rides on the indiv. performance of their head-case QB.
3 - Be honest ... those who are crying & screaming the most are doing so because they know deep down that Alabama IS one of the 12 best & "could" win the whole thing. I highly doubt it, but if their psyco-QB can manage to string together several good performances in a row (which he NEVER has) there's little doubt that Alabama could pull it off.
I wouldn't like to see it, because I don't think they deserve it. BUT, that takes us back to #1. It's not about deserves. It's completely a subjective call by the committee about who the BEST 12 teams are.

The current odds are:
SMU -480
Bama -400
SMU is only slightly favored against Clemson so that tells me if Clemson wins a close one then they are both in and Bama is out.
