Exactly. And unless they’ve changed the rules, you get no practice on the strange horse and can’t even touch the reins until you are in the ring. Luck of the draw.

So...Auburn is one of 3 schools in the SEC with an equestrian team.

I think one of the posters may be thinking about cutting competition where literally the horse is the star.
The Augusta Futurity was/is a big deal.
I think in Cutting, it is all the horse. The rider is just in the saddle and does not do anything. The horse does it all.
