My family is 95% Alabama... The 5% who are Auburn either go to college or have went... Coincidence probably, but definitely convenient.. When I go to Auburn to party, they offer me a beer.. When I go to Alabama to party, they ask what fraternity I'm in...Go figure... But I've always went against the grain and don't follow the other sheep.. Becoming a gump in my family was the easy choice! WDE

What family you're born into. 70% of the state is Alabama, the other is Auburn.

"When a Bama fan says Roll Tide I say Oh yeah when did you graduate? Never had one yet say theu Graduated"
Hint....Stop asking our Star Players they don't graduate they go to the NFL with that Swagga.

ive always wondered what the true ratio of bama to auburn fans was,and i know its pretty much not a controlled poll, but on facebook ive seen 2 different polls. big al vs aubbie the other was [whose better auburn or bama?]both with around 12,000 votes. the ratio in both was 63\37..so obviously auburn is a minority but a large one.

Are you basing your confusion on George Wallace Standing in the door at Alabama, as to why Blacks would think Alabama is racist?
If so here is a history lesson for you.
George Wallace promised in a campaign speech while running for governor in 1962-63 he would oppose the federal governments usurpation of States rights by standing in the doorway of any Alabama school being forced in to desegregation.
In June of 1963 Kennedy called on the national guard( under the insurrection clause) to force segregation of Alabama when two black students applied. Wallace held true to his campaign promise.
The part you are probably not aware of is the national guard was also called on to escort the first black student admitted to Auburn in January 1964 a full 6 months later.
The difference between the two is Wallace had already made good his campaign promise so there wasn't a media circus surrounding the Auburn event.
The assumptions being made about Alabama being more racist than Auburn are not factual.
As a matter of record the % of black students who attend Alabama is much higher than Auburn.
Blacks make up around 7.5% of Auburn's student body , while Alabama's is around 13%.
In 2004 Auburn had less than 500 enrolled black freshmen and 11% of them were athletes.

most black people are Bama fans and that is one I never understood.

I can trace my linage of fandom back to the 20's. My great grandmother jump on the bandwagon back then and passed it down. My mom was actually an Auburn fan (one of those rebels) until her and my dad sent all three of their kids to attend school at UA.

u get raised that way. and if you're an arse, you rebel for no good reason and choose the other team and your family hates you.
This pretty much sums it up. Or you can be complete arse like me and decide neither school is all that attractive and go to LSU.
