let's see. In Saban's first season at Alabama, he lost to LaMo. In Chizik's first season at Auburn, he is going to be 4-0 after today.

well I would be concerned if one of Auburn's commits went to the first 4 Bama games when Auburn has played withing 2 hours for the first 4 games.

Alabama is very deep, and is in no need of any particular player, save the truly elite guys. Yes, I want Corey Grant to be at Alabama. I think he's a game changer with great speed. However, I'm not going to be overly concerned if he wants to go to Auburn in the end. There are plenty of other talented guys that could fill that slot roll for Alabama, in this recruiting class.

Auburn may be able to lure him away with the PT card. I mean, we are not exactly struggling at RB, should be set without reloading till 2011 at this rate barring injury.

Even though they are going to get Dyer, Seastrunk, and Lattimore?

Grant will be in the slot for us.

Saban could name his job, would anyone else in the country hire Eugene Chizik?

OK...Gene is the better coach...better than Saban. Grant is going to AU. Bama will be getting the hammer. Can I slit my wrists now?

We will finish ahead of the Chizikstanis in the final Rivals, Scout and ESPN rankings, not just this year but next year as well. AU will finish around 6th......the SEC.

I wouldn't talk too soon. Alabama started 6-2 in 2007. Most people wouldn't have predicted a 7-6 finish. A late season collapse could still happen for ol' Gene.

No...Gene will totally kick our arse this year and take all our recruits. We lost to ULM in 2007 when Gene was losing in ISU...so it is ordained.

They will lose to LSU, UGA, Ole Miss, UA and if UTk can score on that soft D of AU's they will lose to them. UK is a toss up.

I guess what I am saying is they will have a late season collapse.

A 5* stock always fall when he is leaning towards Auburn. Once he is a strong lean to Auburn all the sites drop his stock. Dyer will prob end up a 3* when he commits to AU.

wouldn't he want to go be around his new teammates and current commits and help Bama recruit instead of watching Auburn play 4 weeks in a row.

Willis has recruited Grant as a double-naught spy for Bama. And you guys are so excited that he's at your games.

CPA makes a reasonable point. If I were Grant and I was totally "Bama-bound" I'd make the two hour drive and be treated like royalty at Bryant Denny. I'd want to hang out with Milliner (sp) and the rest of our incoming recruits and start bonding.

On the other hand, does the kid have a job? Would his dad drive him? Does he have money to "do stuff"? Dunno. He's a high school kid from a not-so-afluent area, right?

Chipzick is also going to go 1-7 in the SEC. Make sure you've got enough Ls to splatter across your sig, CPA.

CPA you posted something about Reed recruiting other players for Auburn during the middle of this week.

An Auburn site said he was down to Auburn, LSU & Florida.

Thursday a report came out from an Oregon site saying he was still open to five teams. LINK

If he really is recruiting for Auburn, have the Auburn coaches told him to keep it on the DL (Kiffin style) and did Trooper and Luper tell Auburn fans like yourself to quit running their mouths about silent, secret, Janzin Jackson type recruits?

IMO, Reed is all Auburn right now. He's doing the same exact tactics Ladarius Owens did. Two weeks before he committed, he made a list of schools that we was still 'open to' including LSU

After he committed two weeks later, he admitted that he'd made the decision to go to Auburn months ago.

IMO, Reed is using the same tactic to make it seem like he hasnt made his choice.
