You are good people.

I am so overwhelmed with how many people are helping. It brings me to tears. Literally everywhere I have went to help the last 3 days has been FLOODED with volunteers cleaning up, handing out food and items, offering places to stay. I am just amazed and have cried at the pure generosity and goodness of this community. I love Tuscaloosa, and I love the people of the state of alabama so much. God bless you Lee County Tiger.

I went down to Holt and worked clearing debris there today. Man that place was devastated.

I haven't been in Holt yet, I have heard that it is so bad though. I have a friend who lived in holt, is in DCH with a broken back and ribs. It's amazing how everyone is finding their niche/location to help. The damage is so widespread people are learning how to spread out and help each community.

Trip has been postponed. Can't do any work until Insurance Adjustors come down and assess the damage.
I'll probably be going one day later this week.

I am truly amazed at the support from all SEC fans to each other during this time of devastation throughout the Southeastern USA.
I was really touched by something as simple as seeing written in the windows of a vehicle today "RTR WE" {or something to that} effect in colors of Crimson and White and Orange and Blue.
This was on a vehicle heading into Alberta City in Tuscaloosa with college age students going in to help....wow, thanks

Just got home finally. Trussville Chic Fil A is remodeling. Chalk up to right place at the right time. I was able to get all the tables, booths and many chairs given to me. Spent 10:30pm til just now loading them, filled a 16 foot trailer and pick up truck. Dad called Ragland and is taking them up for anyone that can use them. Wouldn't have gotten them if not for randomly running into the guy in charge of the remodel, said they would have thrown them away as they hadn't had the chance to locate a local church to give to them first.

Thats great! So nice of you to get all of that. I am sure they need anything they can get.

Hard to pass up that. Hopefully folks will at least be able to sit and eat now. And if any are left, maybe it'll help any city or businesses too.

Update:
I couldn't get in to Alberta City this am and there are so many volunteers in Tuscaloosa. So I remember you mentioned Hale county. I went down there this morning. There was a Hale Co Disaster command center in Sawyerville off of Hwy 14. I stopped there and they put me to work straight away out off CR 21 toward Akron AL.
I think I may have been the only volunteer to show up there, the guy organizing things was a little surprised.
The older gentleman and his wife were in tears thanking me for coming out to help. I am completely wore out this evening and felt that although I ran that chainsaw all day, I barely scratched the surface.
God bless and my prayers are with Alabamians.

Believe I may head down to Hale county soon. Tuscaloosa has a lot of help at the moment (thank the lord).

It's pretty rural, but there are people there in need.

We had a team that was gonna come down today, but it was postponed.
I'll be going at some point in the next few days. They're running from 8 to 8 at the Volunteer Fire Department.
