It's not uncommon. Tennessee has a former player that's a trainer in a similar capacity in the Atlanta area that worked with Carl Lawson in HS. He actively recruited Lawson to Tennessse and he was the only only reason Lawson visited UT, but obviously nothing came of it.
Stephen Davis mentored Marcus Lattimore in HS and was Auburn's in with Lattimore but in the end Davis advised Latt to stay home and be the hometown hero.
This kind of thing is very common. But leave it to UGA fans to whine about everything and try to play the victim. It's their MO

The mentor thing isn't uncommon. But how many of them visit these kids at their high schools in the middle of the day? It's just shady and kind of crossing a boundary. What purpose do you have for visiting him that can't wait until after the last bell rings?
