The cult is always looming in dark corners waiting to throw arse wipe to celebrate something that make them feel relevant.

Rolling it when Saban retired and when Bryant passed away tells you all you need to know. They're a sad bunch.

and when Bryant passed away

lies.. didn't happen.. urban myth which has been discussed & proven false numerous times.

Sports Illustrated article. (quote below)

quote:

He added that a friend had sent him a newspaper clipping that said Auburn students rolled Toomer's Corner after Bryant died in 1983. Finebaum disputed this, and he was right. It didn't happen.

AL. com "setting the record straight"

quote:

Not only was there no indication of any public celebration in Auburn -- let alone rolling Toomer's Corner -- most of the reports focused on the grief and respect coming from Bryant's rivals.

It's a myth according to David housel. Like I'd believe a word that lunatic says.

Talk about trash:

quote:

Toomer's Oaks weren't in great shape to begin with, because fans have just about loved them to death. Over the years, fans have expanded the Toomer's Corner party from big road victories to any football win, plus big wins in other sports. The toilet paper has to be pressure-washed out of the trees. The branches still bear marks from a couple of times when the TP caught fire. By the standards of live oaks—the most majestic trees of the South—Toomer's Oaks are gap-toothed and scraggly.

uhmmm, no... the talk of trash involves bama fans committing assualt, sexual assault & murder over collegiate sporting events.. your quote was about fans rolling trees as part of a victory celebration..

now I understand it's a tough choice for you gumps, but for sane people given a choice between rolling a tree vs committing assault, sexual assualt or murder - well, that ain't no choice at all, toilet paper is cheap, human life ain't.

Nah, not really.

I went on to enjoy the later games. Utah State was a fun game.
