Actually, not. Between 1963 (Ole Miss's last SEC championship) and 2000, LSU had 3 SEC championships (1970, 1986, 1988), along with multiple high rankings in the polls. Ole Miss rarely had any rankings after Archie graduated.
Now in the dark years for LSU, Ole Miss had a better won-loss record, but even then, LSU had a couple of good years (DiNardo's first two years).
