I was going to post the same thing. I went to Ole Miss for 1 year when I lost my scholly at Bama and was friends with Yancy. I can't believe he has that job.

I'm going mostly with McReady since he's the more pessimistic of the two.

We did much better in recruiting than Neil said we would last year.
I'm gonna put faith in that.

At worst we're going to pull five of the top 12 in Mississippi (not counting Demarco Cox, basketball signee.)

Since we don't have a big senior class exactly how many do you think we can add?

Avg stars is the best way to look at it.

The bottom line is that we have more than a decent shot with several of the state's top recruits. Signing day isn't until Feb. as I am sure all you experts know. We have a great opportunity to sign both Thompson and Martin which would give us almost an entire d-line from the state. Add to that a good shot at Sanders, Coleman, and Robinson and I think we are doing just fine in the Nolia state. So how about you guys talk your shite after signing day.

I'm honestly not really worried about it. Maybe I should be... I'm not sure. I don't know why we don't have a powerhouse class coming in, but I don't think we're doomed because of it. I've got faith in Petrino; I'm guessing he knows what he's doing. And, I don't really think he's a shitty recruiter. We had a pretty decent class last year. Hell, he stole Joe Adams from Pete Carroll and USC before he even coached a game at Arkansas. Still, I must admit I'll be somewhat disappointed if we don't bring at least a few good players in to help our pitiful defense.

Shon Coleman

Vincent Sanders

Carlos Thompson

Carlton Martin4

Markeith Ambles

Byran Jones

Dequan Menzie

Delvin Jones

These are some guys that I feel very confident about.
I'm not saying we'll get them all.
But chances are that we'll get at least four.

Just a quick look at our Rivals recruiting page

LINK

I count 5 or 6 linebackers or linemen

I also count 12 of the 15 players being over 6 foot 2 or taller

We are recruiting to our needs not to be number one in the rankings. We need to be physical and big upfront so those teams that have been pushing us around in the SEC will have a little more trouble cause you know some games will be won in the trenches.

the games we lost this past season was due to the fact that we have basically no lineman who can get as physical up front as the teams we played. Mallet got pressure and made bad plays. I will take this class any day of the week if it fills needs and not replacements for players that are already there.

Doesn't Auburn have the #1 recruit from Mississippi committed?

This is fricking HILARIOUS coming from an Ole Miss fan. QUICK! What was Ole Miss' recruiting class ranking on December 17, 2008? What was it on signing day?

A lot can happen in the next month and a half.

Arkansas doesn't hold official visits during the season. Their first REAL official visit weekend started 6 days ago.

I'm worried. The method of finding the diamond in the rough did not work well for Hootie, I don't expect it to work well for anyone else including Petrino.

I hope I'm wrong.

I like the guys in our class. Chris Smith will be a beast and he is a 5.6 3 star on rivals. Honestly that .1 is why many people think our class is bad. We have about six 5.7 three stars. If they all had that extra .1 to be a 5.8 people would be happy with the class. I wasnt too high on Mosely. I'd be lying if I said losing Matthews and Dyer didnt hurt. I want us to get Bryan Jones, Braylon Mitchell is a steal too. From the videos I have seen I think Thamail Morgan is a top 5 Arkansas prospect as well.

Dyer - He's a Malzahn lover more than an Auburn lover, IMO. He's had a relationship with the guy forever.

Byran Jones - Many believe he's a silent commit to Arkansas and there's not been ONE goddamn article remotely suggesting that Ole Miss is in the lead, so STFU.

Anterio Sloan - Never given a scholarship, nor actively recruited, by Petrino.

Brishen Matthews - That's definitely a player they wish they could flip, but finding a comparable player from out of state isn't impossible. Brandon Denmark, Eddrick Loften, James Haynes, and Ahmad Dixon are all showing at least SOME interest at this point.

Dakota Moseley - No offer. Only reason Auburn offered him was to get Dyer. Arkansas wouldn't play that, nor any other, game with Dyer. He might turn out to be great, but at this time they felt there were much better options at tight end (Such as Uekman and Hefley).

So basically the only 2 guys in-state that Arkansas has lost are Dyer and Matthews. The rest were never offered, nor highly recruited.

Auburn has 1 commitment in Mississippi. State has 3 of the top 20 In Mississippi.

Ole Miss has 2 of the top 11.
With so many undecideds left in MS, nobody is owning the state.
