Newcomer practice was at 3 and the returning guys practiced at 6. Some newcomers that are thought to play this year didn't practice with the rest of the incoming class but instead went to the vets practice only. Those guys were Cook, Smothers, Danenhauer, Small, Wade, Highsmith and Peacock.

I obviously didn't attend practice but these are some of the things I picked up while checking out the different sites.

-Brey Cook is cross training and Tackle and Gaurd. In the scrimmage portion of practice he mainly lined up at Guard.

-The first team o-line in the scrimmage was Freeman and Peacock at the Tackles, B. Cook and Bailey at Guard and Swanson at Center.

-Freeman, Peacock and Smothers were rotating at the Tackle spots.

-The play of the day was a deep pass from Wilson to Marquel Wade who made a spectacular one handed catch on the ball.

-Knile is visibly the fastest player on the field.

-DJ looks healthy and no hesitation from his injury.

-Wilson was staring down his primary receiver too much. Lots of dump downs because of this.

-First team defense was blitzing a ton which is unusual on day one.

-Bequette lived in the backfield all day.

-Jerry Franklin is even bigger than last year. How that is possible, I do not know.

-Madison and Winston are finally working as first team CB's. Jerry Mitchell is now second team. One guy thinks Tevin Mitchell will push for a lot of playing time. Based off shorts workout so who knows how reliable that is.

-Ugly Uncle thinks Tank Wright looks like a Greek God.

-Petrino said after practice that Childs is slow coming out of his cuts and they need to figure out what the problem is.

-Lots of running

-Brey Cook and Chris Smith took the brunt of the yelling today.

-One of the coaches thinks that Small will be the suprise of the class. Allegedly he is a work out warrior and loves to hit. Sounds like a good replacement for Stumon if thats the truth.

That's all I have for now, feel free to add more as you hear/see it.

I've got a funny one to add.

- Keante Minor who will wear #15 was practicing in a jersey 3x's his size, because it was Ryan Mallett's practice jersey.

Of all, this made my pants tightest. I've been worried Stumon was one of the biggest losses (now that Green is out).

Go check out the pics and vids on Hogville or Rivals of the newcomers.

Our defensive newcomers are all massive individuals with frames built for their position with lots of room to grow.
Our new linebackers look like Tide backers

Haman, Atiga and Gilber all are like 6-3/6-4, 250 lbs

Haman looks like a monster!

Yeah that's been my biggest fear as well. I don't think some people realize how integral a part he was of our running game last year. I really hope he is all that he has been made out to be by the coaching staff.

You know where the season could be won or lost.

BDS is a tough place to play.

Biggest suprise to me was to see Brey Cook working out at Guard and Mitch Smothers at Tackle when everyone projected it to be the other way around.

I seen these guys in person and was really impressed. I've never seen freshman linebackers that looked like them on the hill.

Totally agree. Mallett may have had double the sacks if not for that beast. He was a solid player all year long both in run and pass.

It really doesn't show much other than being able to see how damn big the LB's are. Cruiser's not lying. They are all probably bigger already than every LB on the roster other than Franklin.

Yep, I wish we could have gotten him there way earlier in his career instead of bouncing him around to 4 other positions first. He was definitely a 4* FB for what we do on offense.
