I'm small town. I love that in NWA (for the time being) you can be out in the sticks in 10 minutes. I guess that's true in W. LR, but we have better nature around here.
Plus I like how its all small-ish towns, even though they have grown together. I tried Little Rock for a while, and aside from some ghetto areas, its really not a bad place.
Downtown Fayetteville is a lot more fun than downtown LR, IMO.

I think its the youth factor. NWA doesn't really have any established areas other than downtown Fayetteville, so most of the areas have a young population, families, energy, etc.
And even though downtown Fayetteville is the most established old part of the metro, its over-run with young crazy people, so its just fun and has a really positive energy about it all the time.
When you factor in all of the people aged 18-30, including 24,000 college students and at least that many more people who aren't enrolled or who just stayed around after graduating, Fayetteville is a very young, fun town.
Little Rock is older and less positive/happening.

I just stumbled across that picture.. I don't feel like looking it up but the expansion fills this area in correct? That's a lot of otherwise wasted space.

As a marketing guy that would love to work for ISP or Learfield I really hope that flat area above the seats is kept just like that. I foresee an epic party deck, in stadium stage, or temporary bleachers at the very least.
It could make for some sort of killer outreach area for YMCA/Boys & Girls Club/Church/school group standing room free seating area.
I'm all about making the games and the university as accessible as possible to every kid in the state. Stuttgart's 4th grade class met some education goals, did some hella community service, had record turnout for peewee football? Send the UofA buses to bring the entire grade and their parents up for a game.

I'm with you, for the time being. Until we're sure we can sell out 80,000 consistently, just leave that concrete area and sell standing room only tickets for $20. That would probably get us up to 84K for big games.

After we do this and the new expansion permanent south endzone upper deck I think we will be set for awhile. But, does anyone else think the new expansions seems somewhat short-sided because of the large video screen? I mean why not remove more of Broyles so we can put a proper endzone in there? I am all for the nice board, but I don't want a weird looking stadium because of it.
