Was our curb stomping of them last year not good enough to make a preseason prediction on that? Who do we lose that will allow them to make up ground in the hypothetical world that is projectionland?
To be fair, I don't think a curb stomping is enugh to gaurantee victory. After all, Florida beat ya'll 38-10 in 08, but you played them extrmemly well in 09. I'm not saying Auburn will or even should beat ya'll. I'm just saying there's alot of justified hype for them to have a good season too.

I know we gave up a ton of yards last year (12th in total defense) and we are tagged as the worst in the league. But I think that is debatable if you consider that we were 9th in scoring defense, 2nd in Turnover Margin, and 3rd in Red Zone defense. It's not far fetched for our defense to move into the top six in the league in 2010.
_____________Scoring Offense________Scoring Defense
2009___8-5___________36.0___________25.1(9th)
2008___5-7___________21.9___________31.2(12th)
2007___8-5___________37.3___________26.5(9th)
2006__10-4___________28.9___________18.3(5th)
Notice how the numbers from these 8-5 seasons are nearly identical.
2009___8-5___________36.0___________25.1
2007___8-5___________37.3___________26.5
We made a 6.1 point improvement in scoring defense from (12th)2008 to (9th)2009. A similar improvement or better in 2010 (about 18points/g) would put us about 5th in the league just like the 2006 season.
2006__10-4___________28.9___________(5th)18.3
2009________________36.0
If we continue the 36 points/g on offense and get our defense down to 18points/g the 2010 season looks very promising. It will be very disappointing if we fail to reach 10 wins.

I really have nothing to add but just figured a barner needed to post in a thread about our new rival.

That is a realistic guess. I gotta see what Auburn Does for several games before I think your better then them.
You may see what they are capable of in week 3 vs. MSU. Week 5, USCe, definitely.

i think 10-2 is reasonable
worst case 8-4
best case is 14-0.
the ole miss loss would bother me because its not very often that you can't beat your old coach when your new one is supposed to be head and shoulders better
