I used to think it would suck going into every game as a favorite. I didn't know any better though bc we sucked while i was growing. Now i enjoy being the top team though i pretty much hate all the other top teams/ teams that get sucked off by the media.

Vandy is my second favorite team in the SEC. Even though Ole Miss and Vandy are rivals, It's most likely due to their standing as SEC bottom feeders, and that I've seen Ole Miss play Vandy live more times than any other team.

same way i am with state. family ties plus bottom feeders in football.

i can only remember losing to them once in my life in football so i don't hate them. even when they were good we seemed to beat them.

Just wait though if ole miss ever brings in a title the thought of liking being the under dog will change. You will prob still like the other under dogs but that is pretty natural for most people.

I like winning, but I had a lot more fun this past year, than in 2003 when we were expected to win games.
We'll always have that underdog mentality because we don't recruit top flight athletes. We recruit diamonds in the rough, players that really have something to prove. These kids play with chips on their shoulders and it is amazing to watch.

Mike Wallace and Patrick Willis were two stars out of high school.

Greg Hardy, Brandon Bolden, Shay Hodge, Marshay Green, Dexter McCluster were three star recruits out of high school.

Even Peria Jerry and Michael Oher were only 4 star players.

We take the kids that were too slow, too small, too weak, and too dumb to play for LSU, Bama, or Florida. These kids are the heart and soul of the team. That's what is so beautiful.

We had a grand total of "0" 5 star players in the starting lineup last year. This year we'll probably have two or three. We lose 6 players total but replace most of them with more "talented" prospects. Doesn't mean they'll be as good though.

yeah, and if it does I'll still have a strong allegiance to Ole Miss. I go to school there afterall. Most likely what would happen is that I would start watching more Memphis and Vandy football games. I'm also a ULM fan kinda.

no doubt. winning didn't change much about me with LSU. I always loved LSU win or lose when we sucked and its the same now.

I became a fan of Maine a couple years ago at in a similar fashion. They repayed me the next year by beating State.
But yeah, I'll even root for state. I like almost all of the underdog teams in this part of the country.

I like the louisiana teams too.

I'm going to take this minute to mention that Ole Miss has the best offensive scheme in the SEC.

Are they really doing that? Memphis did something similar due to QB injuries this year. They had 3 Qb's injured. It's an interesting offense, but not much more than a gimmick, however with the kind of speed that LSU has, I could see it working.

Lived in Louisiana my whole life but Dad was a Bama fan and I of course followed suit. Probably what pushed me farther towards Bama is catching crap from LSu fans as a kid. I couldnt understand why they were so upset that I was a Bama fan but I was to young to understand Bama's dominance during the 70's.

My Grandfather was an LSU alum along with my uncle, cousin, and my Dad attened LSU briefly before having to leave. I my self grew up following LSU because that is all my grandfather would allow. When I moved to Georiga I attened and graduated from an in-state school (not UGA, its called Ga Southern) only because LSU would have been way to expensive as an out of state student, but I never lost my passion for LSU sports esp football and baseball. I also had on my Dad's side of the family Arkansas grads, so I tend to pull for them on occasion.

I know how you feel. That's why I feel the way I do about Alabama and Auburn.
