The gymnast wasn't an issue and in fact I'd argue that she was an instance of the system working the way it is intended to. She wasn't getting paid to be a gymnast at LSU, she got paid because she was super hot and therefore actually marketable. The issue is in football and basketball where NIL has become brazen and unregulated pay-for-play while the system tries to pretend that it is not.
