That and after 6 straight times.. beating them again I dont think would be considered an 'upset'

South Carolina, Arizona State, LSU, Florida and Auburn over UGA.

Tell me something Ross. Why don't I ever hear a Barner admit their streak over Bama had something to do with Bama's probation? To me, that shows a lack of ability to think in the abstract, or to be introspective. Personally, I wouldn't make too much of it.
A Barner friend of mine always likes to ask rhetorically if his daughter will ever live to see the Tide beat the Barn. I always ask him will she live long enough to see the Barn win a NC?

Why does that even matter? Auburn doesn't control what Alabama does to get put on probation.

To me, its something you tell yourself to make yourself feel better. I bet you are one of those Alabama fans that think Auburn's streak should have an asterisk, aren't you?

Bama fans LOVE to play the probation card b/c gumps love excuses.
AU was put on probation in '93. It was not as severe as bammer's but is was significant. AU got pissed and ran off about 20 straight wins, beat Bama, and never lost to Bama more than twice consecutively. AU used it as a rallying point and put together some good seasons, Bama just

No. No asterisk, but I suppose looking for some small modicum of humility in a Barner is like looking for the pork in Pork&Beans. Personally, I'd temper my braggin' a little, but you guys have become a little juvenile lately.

You're calling me juvenile? You're the one using the term 'Barner' constantly. Why should I show any humility anyway? Its not like Alabama fans would return the favor.

Yep. A two year bowl ban, and a loss of 13 scholarships. That's about half of what Bama got.
Yet significant!

If the shoe fits...
There must have been a lot of chin-pulling and collar-tugging going on at the Barn when T Bowden was threatening to spill the beans about all Pat Dye's old players asking him, "Who's gonna pay me now?"
The irony is if Auburn had ever been a contender on the national stage, maybe the NCAA would have picked them to make an example of instead of Bama. The Barn was charged with LOIC, and Pat Dye was forbidden to participate in the program anymore! (note: In the second worse probation sentence ever given by the NCAA, Bama wasn't charged with LOIC.) Yet we still have to hear the Barner drivel about "6 straight!" when you guys should be a little bit more circumspect about your good fortune.

So wait, you're using the fact that you were put on a probation worse than Auburn's ten years prior as to prove that Alabama is better than Auburn? Nice...

I don't need any substantiating proof that Bama is better than Auburn. That's just a statement of fact. Ask Brandon Cox which school he wanted to go to.
Auburn deserved the death penalty back in the '90s. How many NCAA sanctions have recommended firing the head coach?

No, you just keep on going on about how Alabama will forever and always be better than Auburn, even when that day comes where we are in the lead in the series record.

In my opinion its highly unlikely the NCAA will ever use the death penalty again, and the NCAA will never use the death penality against a major BCS school after seeing what it did to SMU. Plus, I think what penalty's are imposed against schools are entirely up to the jurisdiction of the NCAA, not you.

You always keep coming up with this fractured logic. If the series record is the determining factor, would you say Bama is better than AU now? I think we lead in the series, don't we?

I doubt there will ever be a death penalty again. I guess we could argue over who was the most guilty bastard, Bama vice Auburn, until the cows come home. (Hope that didn't distract you. LOL!) The main beneficiary has been USC, because after what the NCAA went through with Bama, they're reluctant to do their bullshite again. Also, USC doesn't have any compliance personnel trying to get a job with the NCAA.

Don't look at me, I hardly ever bring it up in an argument. I'm saying it now because Alabama fans two reasons to why they will always be better than Auburn are: "Twelve National Titles" and "We own the series record". I always have laughed at the ones who use the series record as a reason, seeing how its only five games, which can be made up easily. But I have a feeling if we won the next six in a row Alabama fans still wouldn't acknowledge Auburn's existance and still claim we are just the "red-headed stepchild".

I wouldn't call that a "big upset"
Wisky should be pretty good this year.
Not to mention it's a night game at Wisconsin.
