Ok I will give him a listen later and bump your thread if needed.
If it makes you feel better I do know who Chris Stapleton and Dwight Yokam are.

Alright diddly, I listened to Feathered Indians
I will say, he sounds pretty good, at least on this song.
Thank you for the recommendation, its how country music should sound sadly his sounding like actual country music explains why he's not on country radio. Might actually start listening to him some
Did he just start recording in the last couple years
Say somethin nice and get down voted, what'd I do?

They played this Saturday at the game - the one where LSU hammered Georgia relentlessly.

He had a small album in 2011, but no one knew who he was. Purgatory was his second album in 2017, which was his breakthrough.
He just released his 3rd album, Country Squire.
He has an awesome EP on there, as well as a live album.

I’m shocked that more of the Kentucky guys don’t know who he is. You guys have some great alternative country/ folk music in your state!. You gotta get with The program fellas!

Also, Tyler Childers probably isn’t my #1 favorite artist, but he’s the only one I will actually listen to every song of his without skipping.

That's probably why I haven't heard of him. I avoid new music, especially country thanks to crap like Luke Bryan and other "bro country" artists, a couple of Eric Church's songs being an exception (though those are starting to get older too)
Only reason I've heard of Chris Stapleton is because of his involvement in a bit of a war of words between Tom Petty and Florida Georgia Line over modern country music. A result of rock music leading me to other good musicians

Sorry, Im just more of a classic rock fan. Don't own many country albums even, so its just not an area I look for stuff to listen to in much.
And one of my fellow UK fans already chastised me for it

I know it. The guys I listen to now, (Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Josh Ritter) I had never heard of 6 months ago. What’s sad are the talented people performing real country music have to be labeled as “alternative country”

Wonder if it was one of the one's whose mommas I made jokes about. Tough to say, there are many of them out there
Posted on 12/10/19 at 5:41 pm to diddlydawg7
Yeah, see that's a big reason for my preference of rock. Country stations have gone to crap, labeling stuff like feathered Indians alternative country is just wrong.
But when "this is how we roll" is considered part of the pinnacle of country music now, things are bound to get retarded

Could not agree more. What mainstream country has become is just sad. I would never listen to any country radio. Guys with real talent like Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell remain in a separate genre because country music is commercial garbage.

No offense, but I'm not moved by it.
