A&M on the other hand lost in week 1 to a bad team!
I hate to admit it, but LSU is the one who lost to a bad team in USC. They are 3-4, on the verge of quitting on Lincoln Riley for the second year in a row, and 4-8 over their last 12 regular season games.

No one would have predicted LSU and A&M would be playing as the only undefeated SEC teams. If the game were in Baton Rouge, I’d pick LSU. In College Station, gotta go with A&M.

If we get Mizzou Weigman instead of State Weigman, and our D spends all day harassing your QB I like our chances.

Here’s the big key for the game. The running game. A&M will run the ball and consume the clock. They run the ball about 65 percent of the time and they get about 4 yards a carry on average. So that puts them in 3rd and short A LOT.
There’s an enormous difference between 2nd and 8 and 2nd and 5. Or 3rd and 5 versus 3rd and 1. That’s A&Ms game. Run it and move the sticks. Have your QB sit on his arse for 7 minutes and they score 3 or 7 each time in the red zone.
Then they have a rested defensive line and they come after you like they want to eat your liver for dinner. Their secondary is slow and can be beaten, but because of their running game they are usually rested and dialed in. But they aren’t that talented in secondary. The deep ball can beat them. If you can connect before the DL tears your QB in half. Which is possible if your Oline is very good.
But expect A&M to use their backs and run, run and run some more. They are actually very effective at it. At MSU I think each team had one possession the entire 2nd quarter.
Boring football. But effective.
