Well yeah you were in the right place at the right time and got the best coach ever at the moment in his career he didn’t want to move again. Of course your decline is going to be from a ridiculous height. But it’s a real decline and he’s crossed the 70 year old mark where no coach has ever maintained elite status. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had 1 more great season left in him but his time (and yours) is just about over. The only question is if he retires gracefully or if y’all force him out.

Just hoping for a few more good rides and maybe one more title. I grew up during the Stallings years. Came of age in the period after Stallings, before Saban. I’ll appreciate what he continues to do because younger people like Shula would’ve never done it.

I can’t keep track of all you people
While we’re on the subject, do you really think Mike Bobo is an absolute slam dunk hire and Georgia is a shoe in?

We can start another thread if you like.
But yes. The last 2 seasons that Bobo has worked at UGA, we scored 41.1 and 41.3 ppg.

I remember talking myself into “we’ll just hand the playbook off and we won’t miss a beat”
The undeniable fact is your coach was extremely offensively challenged until Todd Monken became the OC. Now he’s gone.

O was a bad coach and he won a title anyway because it’s LSU
I think this gets stretched a little too far.
The chances of any college team having a top 5 future NFL QB, and two All pro caliber WRs on their roster at the same time is incredibly small, even if you recruit like Bama. And as good as their offenses have been, they never had that. Ed won the lottery.
As hard as it has been for LSU to find a good QB in the past, you guys got a transfer that hadn't played much that was incredible and you didn't even know it. Ed didn't either.
You've had good pairings at WR in the past. Most notably OBJ and Landry, but you didn't have a QB like Joe.
And Chase and Jefferson are probably better. Both may be better than OBJ. That's crazy.
And it looks like those guys made Brady look like an offensive genius when really he was just a guy that had three incredible players no one could stop. Brady hasn't been good since.

Uga had really good offenses in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018.

Even if you’re right, that a guy who was 3-24 or whatever in SEC play was able to come here and even sniff a title speaks to what a great job LSU is. To deny that is delusional at best.

Ummm. The 41.1 ppg was with Monken as OC. The 41.3 ppg was with Bobo as OC.
I'd say that UGA is more than comfortable continuing that trend with Bobo.

Do you watch the games? Serious question.

He was the person Monken told Smart to hire. That there was no reason to look outside. Bobo got several offers to be a HC at Group of 5's while at Georgia but didn't take one until he could kind of see the admin had MR on the hot seat though most didn't recognize that.
I don't recall any of you thinking Monken was some kind of great offensive hire when we got him. I remember some laughing because his head coach wouldn't let him call plays his last year in the NFL.

About 6 times over.
Monken before Bobo?
38.6 ppg
Monken with Bobo?
41.1 ppg
Bobo's last season at UGA as OC?
41.3 ppg
If you have any games that you want to reference, go for it. I'm happy to oblige.

I do and I can tell you this....
Whatever Bobo did in the past he never had:
-an Oline like he has now and he almost beat one of Bama's best defenses in the SECCG in 2012.
-a defense like he has now.
-an offensive staff like he has now.
-a QB room overall like he has now.

If you’re going to sit here with a straight face and tell me the UGA offense between 2016 and 2019 was anywhere near as dynamic as it was in 2020-2022 then you’re a liar.
You’re either gaslighting or completely around the bend delusional.

Is such a vague question the key to your argument that 41.3 ppg isn’t good?

Come on man. Maybe some of you. But you know this board. There'd be LSU fans taking shots if we hired Kyle Shanahan as OC.

I remember saying these kind of things talking myself into failed coordinators

What does 2016 to 2019 have to do with anything?
Chaney and Coley? Your question was about Bobo.
