this group was heralded by Bama fans as the best group of WRs on one team in college football this past year. they definitely underperformed with a 5th year senior QB.

I think our DL will be better next year than it was this year.

Definitely. I wanna see competition at Nose. I don't want Ivory/Lake just getting the PT because they have experience.

Won 2 championships with 1st year starters. Auburn & FSU both had 1st year starters. ND did the year before. Auburn did against Oregon.
FSU had a top 5 recruit in a weak conference and Newton was an uber talented transfer that had experience playing in the SEC
I'm not saying it can't happen--just that its more likely not to

Cooper has had better freshman and sophomore seasons than Julio
if a team gives up 5 draft picks for Cooper in a couple years I will stand behind Cooper.

That's not really fair since Atlanta was desperate.

Julio brought fear to fans of other teams. Cooper doesn't.

That is different though. Julio has the much higher ceiling of the 2, but production in college wise goes to Cooper.
Julio is an out of this world athlete. Cooper has top end speed, good hands, and is a tremendous route runner.

Bama, more than likely, will not win a natty next year.
Question marks at QB, along the OL, and no true NT or lockdown CBs will lead to a couple of losses IMO.

You pretty much summarized the biggest concerns.
UA will also have a shakeup in special teams; they will be starting an unproven placekicker and another punter.

Cooper and Julio aren't even in the same ball park. There is literally no comparison. Guys like Julio are special.. freak athletes.. guys like Cooper not so much. Cooper was probably like the 5th or 6th best WR in the SEC this season.

He dealt with a turf toe all year. He was extremely good at the end of the season. We also spread the ball around a lot, so his numbers weren't all that outstanding.

Yeah, Julio is a better freak athlete, Coop is no slouch.
Coop has speed, he's made plenty of people miss to get Yards after the catch, and he's one of the best, if not the best, route runners in CFB. Julio didn't run great routes coming out of Bama, Coop did as a Freshman.
Cooper/Julio is like the Eddie/T-Rich comparison. T-Rich is the better athlete, Eddie plays/knows the position better.

Tim Williams, Jonathan Allen , A'Shawn Robinson with Jarran Reed and Hand coming in, the DL future looks pretty good imho.

Really? Because you'd think the performances he's had against Auburn and all of his big time plays would worry some people.
Coop made like four of your defenders look like fools on one play in 2012. He had a 99 yard TD against you this past IB. Oh, he caught the game winner in the SECCG against Georgia. Two TDs against an unbeaten Notre Dame on CFB's biggest stage...

Julio all day...every day.

If we're doing this at least make it entertaining.

I'm not taking a side in this argument, but Julio Jones did have some success versus LSU's secondary in 2009 and 2010. He beat Patrick Peterson on Alabama's last score versus LSU in 2010.

They lose a QB that played 40 games for them and they think they won't take a step back
