You mean like Andrew Zow, Walter Lewis, or Danny Woodson?

Zow started and won the last three games of his career (in which he was already the most prolific passer in school history) only because the starter, Tyler Watts, was unable to play.

That was NINE YEARS ago. Bama has signed a ton of black QBs since then. Only one has even completed a single pass - and he transferred right after the season, with 3 years of eligibility left.

Woodson was a flop as a starter. He didn't even survive the season.

Since Zow graduated in 2001, and before Saban arrived in 2007, Alabama was lucky to have any QB under center, considering the circumstances at the time. And FWIW, we only signed three black QBs from 2001-2008 (Jimmy Johns, Earl Alexander, and Star Jackson), of which two changed positions.

Star Jackson was very talented, but had trouble with a college offense, after only playing one year at the position in high school.

As for Woodson, he had a load of talent, but off the field problems hurt him the most. And it's hard to argue against Jay Barker eventually winning the job, considering the career he would have at Alabama.

Yeah, you were stuck with that talentless loser you had to play because his dad was some hotshot alumnus. Brodie something, wasn't it?

Like I said - something in the water. Black QBs just don't succeed at Bama. Outside of Lewis and Zow (who wasn't signed to play QB), you've had zero that amounted to anything in 40 years of integration.

I'm sure it will change one day. But if the speculation about McCarron and Sims is correct, it won't be anytime soon.

Brodie was already on the team in 2001. He enrolled in the spring. I was talking about after the probation was announced, in the spring of 2002.

I don't know what you're trying to get at here, but what does it matter if McCarron wins the job in 2011? If he gives Alabama the better chance to succeed, who cares if he's white, and Sims is black.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Sims started. It's a good problem to have, I guess.

I was just commenting on what I found to be an interesting statistical anomaly. Nothing sinister meant by it.

It's something that will end under Saban, considering how he's recruited the position, and who'll make up the depth chart moving forward.

So now we measure institutional racism by the number of starting black QB's. Interesting.

Typical Boog racist remark. Sad and pathetic.

Simms has more upside but makes too many stupid throws. His arm strength is unreal but he sometimes leans on that strength too much.

I really don't think Bama is much different from a lot of other SEC team in the black QB department.
