Like I said, Texas fricking sucks.

But, the intense hatred of two states doesn't get worse than missouri and kansas. It might be retarded that this hatred goes back to the civil war. But, regardless, it does. Kids are raised to hate Kansans. The jayhawk sticker on a car can cause road rage or criminal vandalism.

Some people think that the civil war is still being fought between Missouri and Kansas, only in a cold war type manner. You can say what you want, but there aren't two states that hate each other more than MO and KS, period.

One of my good buddies went to KU and is a hardcore Jayhawk fan, but he grew up in Missouri and rooting for Mizzou. His parents are big Mizzou fans and he is friends with a bunch of Mizzou people. Hearing him tell stories, it sounds like a pretty average rivalry.

Mizzou fans and KU fans dont go around killing eachother or doing anything else crazy that doesnt occur in numerous other rivalries across the nation. Cars are vandalized here in Texas too from time to time over bumper stickers. You sound like an extremely sheltered person to truly believe that MU/KU is some untouchable earth shattering rivalry.

I don't really care about the meaning of it or what happened 150 yrs ago...i am just talking about the rivalry as it stands today. Just doesn't seem like anything too special. A shite ton of people from both Kansas and Mizzou work/live/carry out day to day activities in Kansas City every day and it hasn't descended into sunni/shiite violence, at least not to my knowledge.

The only thing that makes the MU - kU rivalry different from other intense rivalries IS the long history and bloody origins. For those of us who had family in the region raided by Jayhawker redlegs (see Outlaw Josie Wales), it's a matter of family tradition and pride. The fact that they continue to this day to use the Jayhawk name is an insult to our ancestors. That's why true sons fly black flags.

That said, the rivalry will be weakened with their butt hurt refusal to play us, so F-'em. I'll continue to wish them the worst.

Didn't really care that KU lost. Was cheering for UK because they are SEC, and so are we. I've been cheering on the SEC baseball teams so far. Things are going really good. If my aggies don't win, i'll cheer for any SEC teams.

2011 MU-KU football game attendance: 47,059
Arrowhead Stadium Capacity: 76,000

You missed selling out your final football game by about 30,000 tickets.

I think politics, the sec move, bad blood, and the fact that ku had won zero conference games up to that point may have been a factor.

Once again, your assessment just proves that you don't understand the rivalry. If you can't figure out what im talking about, then please stop throwing out crappy "stats" and misleading info.

You don't have to be douchey forever. People can change. It's called free will...

I think politics, the SEC move and bad blood were why we oversold capacity by 6,000 at Kyle Field and there were thousands more outside tailgating that couldn't get tickets, continuing to talk shite to each other as the game went on. It's not like either us or Texas were good last year. Even when we were terrible in 08 the game was a sellout +4,000 in Austin

I guess I don't. I always took rivalry to mean a game you care the most about it, especially enough to attend it. I guess your rivalry with Kansas is so transcendent the fans don't even need to show up.

Why didn't Aggies fill up their side of Cowboys stadium this year in the Southwest Classic? I saw a lot of empty seats where there should have been maroon...

We're discussing rivalry games, not some random non conference game at a neutral site. Try to keep up

The issue with the game in question was lack of attendance by kU fans. By October, they've moved on to basketball, and try to pretend football doesn't exist because it's so embarrassing for them. There were only about 5,000 kU fans there, if I remember right.

No, not all rivalries are based on a "desire and expectation" to fill the seats, especially if the hate was so intense due to history and Mizzou's move to the SEC that KU fans went into boycott mode. Clearly they were trying to send a message of "frick you Missouri".

When I said that u don't get it, I wasn't fricking around. You can't comprehend this. It's like trying to understand the moment before the Big Bang. Good luck.

(now we'll get a lesson on the big bang)
