1. Has been addressed several times already

2. Hopefully none, someone said we need a top 50 defense to win the SEC, this year if we had a top 100 defense it would have helped us win 3 more games (nothing could help us with that performance in TS) But our defense played very well last year, hopefully we can get back to it.

3. Most of what has been said is accurate. Deep RB and WR groups still. Hill would come in and throw some bombs in limited time.

Like others have said though, I want to see a change in the OC. The difference between this year and last was night and day. We didn't introduce any new schemes in the later part of the season and McKinny lacks the creativeness of Ryan Gosling. That's why the O struggled late in the year, it turned into Johnny going for the home run every play

Change in the OC..

I think I'd rather they drop the damn option. Johnny was not good at that. I'd rather see the read option as a wrinkle for our O. It works so damn well for Ole Miss and Auburn.

One of the things most don't know is that Kenny Hill is also a damn good runner. He kind of reminds me of Pat White from WVU back in the day, but with a stronger arm.

Also, I totally forgot... Hill also has his HS receiver Sabian Holmes. They really work well together and we got to see how that goes once this year when They were in.

Good questions. I believe they have already been addressed. I just want to add that Aggies KNOW the Defense was shite last year. We don't want to see that again.

But Snyder was just trying to plug in some talented fish over some of Sherman's players who weren't getting it done. He deserves a chance to use his players before we determine that it is coaching issues.

Regarding QB, JFF really improved as a pocket passer for most of the year, but completely regressed in his decision making the last couple of games. The offense will be fine with a QB who can see the field and make correct decisions.

A lot of this has been addressed but in the end most positions are coming down to how the young guys produce. We have far more talent (esp on D) than we have had since the early '90s in terms of Star rankings and such but next year is really the year we need some of those guys to step up. The biggest difference from '12 to '13 was in '12 we had some very strong Sr leaders on D. Not all were studs but they were all very good players that could help make the players around them better. This year we had very few Seniors and even fewer that were leaders, it sucked when your best returning defensive player and Sr leader (Jenkins) gets busted for pot and is suspended for the 1st 2 games. Not exactly leading by example. We also had several other defensive players who had offseason trouble.

It's going to be Kyle Allen vs Kenny Hill for the starting QB job and no telling who wins out Allen is an early enrollee and the #1 QB in the country. Hill will be a Sophomore who was a 4 Star and played in essentially the same system in HS leading powerhouse Southlake Carroll to a State Title. Allen is a prototypical NFL guy that has been a camp superstar. Hill has a great arm and definitely has dual threat ability. Will either be JFF? No. It is noteworthy though that JFF was supposed to be the #14 QB in the SEC before he took a snap too. It's not like the SEC is loaded with great returning QB's next year.

We should be fine on the OL unless the JUCOs don't work out and Obueghi and Harrison both leave. That isn't likely though.

Coaching changes are unlikely unless Sumlin wants them. You don't give him the contract we just did and then pressure him to make coaching changes against his will. I trust in Sumlin to know whether the problem was the players or the coaches, at least for next year.

The key though is still how much the new talent steps up. On paper you would think a 4 Star WR could come in and replace a former Walkon (Labhart) and a JUCO that very few people offered (Walker) but you never know. JFF and Evans were both 3 Stars out of HS as well but even with a 4 or 5 Star replacing them you can't expect those positions to stay the same. One thing I do feel good about is we don't have a lot of positions relying on one guy, it's typically more like "one of these 3 guys needs to step up". I mean Myles Garrett is a 5 Star Stud WDE with a mansized body and elite quickness but that doesn't mean he won't bust or need a year or two to figure things out. Or he could be Clowney reincarnated, who knows?

1. Who fills in for Johnny and Jake next year? What are your thoughts on the replacements?

Either Kenny Hill (SO - 2012 Texas HS player of the year, son of MLB All Star pitcher Ken Hill) or Kyle Allen (5-star QB, #9 in Rivals 100 - early enrollee) at QB - Matt Joeckel will never be more than a backup.

As far as left tackle, Cedric Ogbuehi (current starting RT) slides over to LT. Replacing him at RT is JUCO Jermaine Eluemunor.

2. What changes will be made on the defensive side of the ball in terms of coaching?

Coaching wasn't the problem this year, lack of leadership and lack of size were the problem. The 2012 defense started 5 seniors and Damontre Moore.

DB Howard Matthews (JR) - 12
DE Julien Obioha (SO) - 10 (held out the SHSU game due to injury)

LB Steven Jenkins (SR) - 10 (suspended for Rice and SHSU)
DB Devante Harris (SO) - 10 (suspended for Rice and SHSU)
DB Deshazor Everett (JR) - 9 (suspended for 1st half of Rice and SHSU, moved to safety when Raven was injured)
LB Darian Claiborne (FR) - 9
DT Alonzo Williams (SO) - 8 (injured during the Auburn game)
DB Tramaine Jacobs (SR) - 7
DT Isaiah Golden (FR) - 6
LB Donnie Baggs (JR) - 6 (lost starting job after Alabama game, regained it vs. Vanderbilt)
DB Hurd (SR) - 6 (nickel back)
DB Floyd Raven (JR) - 5 (injured during SHSU game)
DT Ivan Robinson (JR) - 4
DT Kirby Ennis (SR) - 4 (suspended for Rice, tore ACL vs. Arkansas)
DB Clay Honeycutt (JR) - 3 (lost starting job after Alabama game)

QB - I think Kenny Hill beats out Freshman Allen. But Allen is the #1 QB in the Nation. While that always doesn't pan out, sometimes they come in and can ball. I think if he is the type that can make fast reads and get the ball out fast it will be neck and neck between he and Kenny down to the wire. If its close I look to Shirt Allen until a situation calls for it to come off.

OL - This had been a strange topic that nobody seems to understand. With all the 1st rounders, our OL could not run block at all. Another reason I defend the OC in designing a JFF only offense. RB Ben Melena was a trusty blcoker, had good hands and could run pretty good. Very hard runner. He is very undervalued by Aggies IMO.

The JFF or bust O worked until JFF got hurt. By LSU he would just collaped and cover when pocket collapsed. He would never do that if not hurt. LSU would have still won - but they would have had to chase him at least. Ankle, shoulder and thumb.

I defend the OC because we were a hair away from beating Bama and Auburn. JFF stays healty we beat Auburn. A botched fade route by a wr leads to easy pick on 1st and goal from the 1 or we could have beat Bama. So Going into LSU this O was doing its best. Setting the SEC record a second time not bad with no running game or D. So I disagree with most Aggies. I like what the OC did. It was the only shot. By Mizzou he could't out run 1 DL.

Next year I am optimistic that the staff realizes the issues on OL and works hard as hell on S&D and technique. So I think OL should be as good. The 2 JUCO OL hopefully can play.

RB's We have very good but very unproven backs. 2 5 star and Carson a bruiser. Do we have an every down type SEC back - I don't know yet. But while our O will work on running I expect i to still be pass oriented just shorter passes - fast hitting and dumps to RB's

WRs Will be entirely new cast unless Kennedy stays. RSJ will be back and will be awesome. Quiv should step in. There are many more that I feel sure some will step up. Should be fine.

Overall I expect the O to be good. Not great - but possibly very Good. If they D can step up we could be a good team.

The D - I personally want changes now but is not going to happen. My issue is our D has too many ankle divers afraid of contact. See an LSU run for TD. Linebacker to meet at the Goal line and bails out at his feet. This culture needs to change. I think the leaders of the 2013 class need to be the group to take over leadership in the offseason and be beefing up, training and deciding we are going to hit people in the mouth. Even if we lose lets start the new culture that A&M will hit you and you will know it. This attitude needs to be in play when 2014s show for camp. The will see and follow suit. DL will have some depth and size. DB's will fight for roles. LB is the problem.

There were many good players in the 2013 class that should have matured and challenge starters. 2014 class was also excellent and should fill some gaps and even take upperclassman spot or 2.

D should be better - if not I will be pissed and hope the get rid of Synder. Even in losses - I want the see a mean D with an edge. If that is not there by year 3 your DC is not cutting it.

The 2015 class is a beast as well. So by then I feel we should contend again.

Next year I think we could be average or surprise and be very good. If the QB can play - we have all we need on O. I will be switching my view of the OC if this unit can't hum. There is more talent than most teams ever get.

Our 1st rounders are tackles. Your running game is won on the interior.

Mike Matthews, while more talented than Patrick Lewis, is also 40+ lbs lighter.

Germain Ifedi is 311 and mean, but he's also a 1st year player who has committed a lot of penalties.

Jarvis Harrison mailed it in sometime after the Vanderbilt game, when he realized he was moving back to guard from tackle after Ced returned. He also, according to rumors, stopped attending class and is leaving for the draft. We might have been better off with Compton at one of the guard spots.

Either way, as long as Gennesy and Eluemunor are as advertised, we should be good on the line with a 2-deep of:

LT: Ogbuehi (RSSR), Stuckey (RSSO)
LG: Gennesy (JR), Wilson (RSFR)
C: Matthews (JR), Compton (SR)
RG: Ifedi (RSSO), Gramling (RSSR)
RT: Eluemunor (JR), Cheek (RSJR)

This will allow all of the freshmen (Gustafson, Davis, Martin, Ledwik) to redshirt

Tackles also play a part in the run game. I am not sure if serious. A big part if you have 1st round tackles.

Anyway regardless most Aggies I have spoken with were very disappointed at the OL. The talent was much better than production. It will be addressed. Hopefully look better next year.

They do, but if your interior is weak, you won't be able to run up the middle.

Better. but this DL had more talent than they should. The team is finesse and they need to get raw.
