Only because "legit" meant votes based on popularity and number of TV sets in 64, 65 and 77.

bullshite.

Alabama won in spit of the media being against them. Alabama won the NC in 1964, the AP decides to start counting bowl games even though it was common for the NC to lose their bowl game before then.

In 1965, the AP decides to count bowl games. Alabama wins because it wins it's bowl game.

In 1966 the AP decides not to count bowl games again. And despite Alabama going undefeated, Notre Dame went for the tie against Michigan St, skipped the bowl game as it always did and won the NC while Alabama finished 3rd.

The idea Alabama was winning NC before of media bias is just plain baseless. Find some other excuse for why people didn't think Arkansas was the better team.

Win in a split > Didn't win it at all and have to pretend like you did more than a half a century later.

I presume you mean 1965 when the coaches poll did not count Bowl games?

Arkansas still didn't win it, Michigan St did. Michigan St then went on to lose it's bowl game and...nobody cared.

So you agree. Nobody cared because of number of voters, not accomplishments.

Nobody cared because Michigan St lost what was considered an exhibition game and they weren't named Alabama.

Voters > Crap on mom's fridge that Arkansas use to claim NC.

If you just want to pout and makes excuses, be my guest. I'm just trying to give understanding on the actual history and how things worked/happened.

Some people find it interesting and some people don't realize/think about it.

You're not trying to understand. Else you'd give in to undefeated versus beaten.

And you finished #2. You beat 1 ranked team the entire season, while Alabama beat 3.

Number two in a popularity contest. Number one in victories.

No. You had the same amount of victories as Alabama, but instead of wins against 3 ranked teams, Arkansas only had a 1 pt win over a ranked team.

Alabama went undefeated in 66, didn't win the NC. That's how it was.

Bowl games were exhibition games and played a month after the national champion was crowned.

Alabama was undefeated in official games.

At that time the Big 10 would not let a time go to consecutive Rose Bowls. I’m willing to bet that Mich. ST would have loved to be able to go. I hope you know more about this county’s history than you do about college football history.
