Thanks for the lesson on Louisiana retail and LSU culture

There is no "lesson" to be had. "Coonass and proud of it" shirts with LSU colors show up here in Houston all the time.

Perhaps the people that wear those shirts actually are coonass. You wouldn't see me wearing a purple and gold LSU shirt that read "Black and Proud!!"

I'm from New Orleans. I know plenty about coonasses. Not all people from LA are considered coonass.
I would hope you know that.
I would hope you know that.

The building and surrounding land is a memorial to soldiers who died in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm.
I'm not gonna jump on your arse if you mess with the system, but it's just poor form to dishonor a memorial with established rules about how to honor said memorial. It'd be like marking up the Vietnam wall in DC.

As an away fan I think it's important to do something to disrespect the other team and their school but that's a bit much even for me. But most likely anyone who walks on it doesn't understand the system.

Honestly though, I think the hatred just stems from a general air of Texan arrogance.
They're better than everyone else, and if you suggest anything different, you're an idiot.
Probably the most accurate statement on this thread.

Farbeit for an Aggie fan to tell an LSU fan about "place."
It's funny, though: in 1990 before LSU's darkest decade in football, we were ranked 13th in all time win percentage. Aggie's ranking in 1990? 37th. I guess an Aggie would know something about being mediocre.
I know, I know, you're going to say next that using 1990 as a cutoff is a bit self-serving of me. After all, during the 90s you were beating down LSU, right? So let's look at 2000 and account for the golden years of Aggie and doldrums of LSU: in 2000 we were still ranked top 15 in all time win percentage. Aggie in 2000? 23.
As of last year, LSU is back up to 12th and Aggie is still at 23. So, remind me again who doesn't know whose place?
I don't know where you are getting your numbers, but according to my analysis, by the end of the 1999 season, your overall record was 610-355-47 which would have put you barely in the top 25 for winning percentage.
Luck for you, two coaches named Saban and Miles came along to resurrect a program that had been faltering since McClendon left. Hell, in the last 13 season you have won as many games as you did in the previous 25 season. Before Saban, you were inconsistent at best. Before McClendon, you were down right mediocre. I and many Aggie fans can relate and for the most part understand that this is our place. What makes us different is the fact that our history has ups and downs based largely on the fact that we were so involved in sending military officers for war efforts. So, we take the fact that our football history has been largely slightly above average and we can live with it knowing the contributions we have made in other areas. This has been our place in football history and we are in the process of hopefully improving it.
I know you all hate Saban, but you should be kissing the ground he walks on for giving you what you have now.
So the fact that for the most part LSU fans have this over inflated opinion of their program and their program history is what I find to be a head scratcher. You are the Oregon of the south.
You are not Alabama.
You are not Notre Dame.
You are not Michigan.
You are a program that was stuck in neutral until you hit a gold mine in Saban. It's because of him that you are able to talk all the trash that you talk...and most years you are still on the outside looking in because the man that made you who you are, also dominates you every year and keeps you from getting you back to the big show.
And that is okay. You have a strong program now and I hope you can keep it that way, but don't rewrite history. You have been an elite program for about ten years....the last ten years.
Sorry. Sometimes the truth hurts.

If we're the Oregon of the South then idk what to refer to aTm as.
They were bottom of the barrel in the UT conference for my entire lifetime.
It's amusing to see them so excited after one mediocre year. But you have to start somewhere I guess.
