Well I wasn't talking to you Mr. Obsessed, but if you actually read my post you would know I DON'T think Texas tried to lock us in, because if Texas tried we would be locked in.
In fact, I think Dodds used some of the exact political capital that could have kept us locked in to pry Baylor's teeth off our arse.
And in doing so Dodds created the first true competition for talent in the state AND made it so that Texas is completely responsible for the children and therefore is locked to them politically going forward.
So thanks I guess?

This is the attitude that caused a pretty decent conference to go to shite. What you don't seem to realize is that we never asked for your permission and we never had to. You were not holding the cards and we left because we wanted to. The world does not revolve around t-sips and their delusional sense of grandeur. We are gone. Get over it. It's not about you.

I would argue that if Texas would have tried and put its political power together with Baylor and Tech, they could have locked us in. Legally in the long run we have immunity, but they could have raised a big enough fuss to scare off the SEC. Baylor almost did that by themselves.
But to do that Texas would have had to care about A&M publically, which it is too arrogant to do.
So A&M got the best "get out of jail free" card in the history of college football. Well, other than Cam's.
