Quote from a Bama fan from another thread:

quote:

I don't hate him. I think he is a standup guy and a great role model !! I think the problem comes from the media and the way they have made him out to be THE GREATEST college football of all time.

The kid is good, even great, but I wouldn't say the greatest of all time !! He's a good leader, but in all honesty his #'s this season are lacking. Not taking anything away from him, but he has been hyped beyond belief

So let me ask you. What if:

Tebow wins his second Heisman and has his 3rd NC ring after this year? Should it not be said that he is the greatest college player of all time?

Maybe

I'd say so, but I'm 22 so I don't think I've been around long enough to crown his arse responsibly.

Honestly, I'm not bashing the kid, I like and admire him

BUT....to say he is the greatest PLAYER ever in the NCAA....????? There is some mighty good talent that is being kicked to the curb because of what people say about his "LEADERSHIP".

I may be wrong, but when I think HEISMAN then I think athlete, not leader.

I think the Tebow backlash is so strong because of the slurping and sucking of him by the folks at CBS and ESPN.

He definitely is one of the greatest of all time but GOOD GAWD - enough already.

If I see a clip of the plaque and the "speech" again I may just vomit.

The media really kisses his arse. Nothing he can do about it except pull a Tiger.

So being a nice respectable person is "too gay" acting for you huh? Why does this not surprise me from a redneck gump? Would he be accepted if he had a mullet, drank beer for breakfast and walked around scratching his arse?

Not to mention he will beat the tide down tomorrow.

The "Dick Chopper" is good player but not the greatest player. He's a product of hype and nothing more. The Heisman Trophy is not truly given to the best college each year because two thirds of the athletes that play will never get enough PR/political points to garner any consideration. As far as stats and play are concerned, he doesn't set the world on fire with QB related measureables, and he doesn't have a quick release or good mechanics. As far as Heisman winning QBs are concerned, Andre Ware, Ty Detmer, Gino Torretta, and Chris Weinke were better pro prospects than the "Penis Cutter," and you see how successful they all were at the next level. It's all downhill for this guy after he leaves the college ranks...he's the "greatest hyped player" and nothing more...

Lots of gay people are respectable. I'm not saying Tebow is a bad person at all but all that bawling and nose kisses by Meyer is just too much.

There's a good chance he's gay. He's not into chicks and he had a crush on Mike Shula.

Meyer's might be too. Those nose kisses are a sign.

Any guy who enjoys spending his summers circumsizing little boys is definitely gay...kids in third world nations won't complain about being molested, either.
