Hitting a defenseless player in the head is not textbook tackling.

If they didn't pull back the targeting then the Texas fans probably would have thrown trash on to the field until the refs changed the call.

Definitely targeting most of the year. Refs got gutless and didn't want to decide the game on that call,
And I applaud the refs for that.

Freeze framing college football plays is stupid and explains why so many of you don’t understand why it was a no call, even after review
The video analysis is not stupid. Thats what confirms the targeting, not the freeze frame.

It probably was targetng but not intentional, both players went low at the same time, how can a defender stop in that situation? Also, so was the ASU player launching himself at the defensless Texas receiver (Isiah Bond) earlier in the game, and they did not call that one either after review..I think that was an even worse no call because the ASU player launched himself off the ground at a defenseless receiver and nailed him in the head with his elbow.....Both plays were likely targeting though, except 1 looked more intentional.

The player was not defenseless. Defenseless would be in the process of making a catch. He already caught the ball and as the Texas player was running toward him, he turned into the Texas player as he was turning to run with the ball. Therefore incidental helmet to helmet contact and not targeting.
You're telling me if he dropped the ball after that hit it would have been a fumble???

Yet again, what targeting call would Texas fans be a bitch about? Maybe the one in the Texas game. The fact someone has to spell out the obvious to you everytime explains a lot.
I'm still googling, can't find it.

Arms did not make first contact , the crown of the helmet did.

If I was a ref I would never throw a flag for targeting. I don't care if brains were leaking out. Play ball.

That's exactly what he is saying. The video shows why it wasn't targeting. The dumbasses here taking a freeze frame and using it to argue targeting is fricking stupid.

I saw the play from my couch and the first thing I thought was Targeting.
Guess I was wrong.

The video confirms targeting as the rule is written.
The problem is you don’t understand the rule.
