Also, if bowl games outside the big six don't matter, why are we risking any student athlete to injury?
Well, most of them won't have a pro career anyway, so they aren't losing much monetarily if they get a knee injury.

I do think the players who travel and get the swag bag but sit during the bowl game are shitty.
Even if they are the main reason he team is in the bowl game to begin with?

Who's done this, though? Fournette was the first player I can remember who announced early on he wasn't playing in the bowl game. He was not in attendance. I can't speak for others because I didn't pay attention, but I'm guessing the guys who choose not to play aren't traveling with the team either. Most, if not all, already hire agents so they wouldn't be able to travel with the team and get the swag bags regardless.

Yes. That stuff is for players who are playing in the bowl game. Period.

I agree they should not be on the funded travel roster simply because it likely prevents another player from getting the experience based on ncaa travel roster restrictions.
Go and play. Or, allow another player on the cut line the experience. It affords that player more practice reps and opportunities to advance.
The player sitting out can find other options to go and participate in activities and on the sideline. But, I assume he'd have to have his player status ended to allow the University or others to fund it
All of this is solely contingent on bowl travel restrictions being the same as regular season, to which I'm uncertain.

Why do you care so much about what other people do that has no bearing on your life?
IOW, why give a frick?

You’re on a sports forum asking why people talk about sports?

get off your high horse about college kids who don't get paid to play
Tuition/Cost of Living for 4 years is what they get...if you haven't faced these bills then you think they aren't being paid

Then football isn't for you. In football your best interest" is never in just your hands. Your teammates all always either contributing to your success or detracting from it. If I'm the GM of an NFL team, I sure as hell ain't drafting a player that walked out on his team before the season was even over.
