The details are not being withheld. They've said that ALL options are on the table, but the RFP did lay some things out.
The vast majority did not want to move the stadium OR play out of College Station for a few years. Businesses thew fits.
I would expect us to hit the 100k mark for sure... I also expect a major expansion of the club seating and fancy pants suites. It sucks for the average family because it would cost me a grand just to take my family to 1 game a year up in the nose bleeds.
Fact is, we are bigger than ever (graduating 12k this semester alone,) and there will be no shortage of demand unless the economy really tanks.

If they were really seriously considering this, why in the hell didn't go all out and do the south endzone expansion right?
One, Alleva didn't want to have to do roadwork as part of the expansion. As I write this, Stadium Drive is currently closed. Go figure.
Two, LSU & TAF decided that it made the most sense to concentrate on adding premium seating as opposed to general admission.
The NEZ expansion, which you will begin hearing about in 2015, will be constructed the same way.

The RFP I posted earlier states that it will be a multi-year phase plan so as to allow Kyle Field to host A&M games during the season (as opposed to a relocation to Reliant).
Then why is Texas A&M getting quotes from local Houston High End Catering Companies for games at Reliant?
Nothing is currently set in stone. Yes they will like to build in phases and keep games in College Station. However if they can't make that happen reasonably they will move games down the road 90 miles. The "reasonably" has lots of variables.

they nailed it with this decision btw. very smart. i really dont see the need for that much more general admission seating in TS either.

No one is expanding with a primary focus on adding bleacher seats for the likes of us anymore. Not one team. All expansions going on in the CFB world are aimed at what the pros found out: you can make an order of magnitude more money for the same use of space if you build suites instead of bleachers.
A&M, throughout its doldrum days of the 2000's, has had a waiting list for suites a mile long. As soon as The Zone was completed it was clear it was not nearly enough. We could build a vertical wall of suites in the S EZ and sell them all. It's not just rich individuals, it's Oil & Gas companies in Houston. We have the distinct advantage of being simultaneously an hour from the world's energy capitol and the source of a great deal of its engineers and management. Suites aren't just the cash cow for revenue though, they're also the leverage for the financing. Any additional bleacher seats us regular folk get in the bargain are made possible by the fact that you can PRE-SELL leases on all those suites and back the bond with that money.

I grew up in Houston as the son of an LSU father who lived in Tiger Stadium, so I'm well aware. I said it was a distict advantage of A&M's in that College Station is only an hour away. My post had nothing to do with LSU, which has a TON of grads in Houston and in the O&G industry, because the existence of LSU isn't germane to my point that A&M can target suites harder than many other universities thanks to its ties to an industry primarily situated only an hour south in which its graduates are over-represented compared to the rest of the population. I'm not dissing LSU or implying that LSU doesn't have ties to the O&G industry that it can count on to buy suites, it definitely does, I'm posting about A&M.

Well put. Even though LSU's largest alumni base is in Houston.. It's still only 2nd or 3rd largest in the city. Also, having your largest alumni base outside of your home state is not something I'd be pouding my chest about.

And I'm not dissing ATM either. Just pointing out that many of those in the O&G industry aren't your alumni, but ours.

Are you making this up? I think you are.
