While the trolling is ridiculous, you're not totally wrong here. The SEC absolutely should be playing 9 conference games. It's too bad Bama is the only school willing to push for the right thing.

Our OOC game was WVU. And I'll put the Vols' SOS up against any B12 team (ours was #2 nationally).

It doesn’t matter who the OOC opponent is. The 8 game schedule games the system to avoid an additional 7 GUARANTEED losses. And those GUARANTEED losses are all downside for the top teams in the league.

And the SEC pimps their OOC schedule.... it’s all fake news when really they are just avoiding more losses against each other

That would be true except that you've got Kansas in the league. Since the 2011 realignment, Kansas has never won more than 1 conference game in any season. They've gone 0-9 half the time. The reality is that nine Big XII teams begin each season 1-0 in the league.

Well isn’t that all downside if you somehow lose to Kansas???

Which is, historically, less likely than an SEC team losing to the extra OOC opponent.

You're worried about overall conference as a whole losses? No one cares about that. I'd kill for any one of your teams' schedules. My Vols as bad as they are would've gone bowling.

Yes but still semantics. It’s really more about doing the right thing which you stated. It’s pretty obvious the 8 game schedule is to allow the conference get more bowl games and propel the conference higher than what it really should be.

Disclaimer: I think the SEC is the best conference too to bottom but not a huge gap between other conferences

If no one cared about the conference losses as a whole; why not 9 games????? Someone cares...

I honestly don't see it that way. I support nine games because it shouldn't take a dozen years to play a home-and-home with every conference opponent.

Because several of our teams have permanent rivalries with ACC teams that aren't going to be given up and the rest of us know how to schedule for success. The point of putting a number on conference games is typically about SOS. That's the only reason to care about it. Otherwise, teams care about their own record not the conference's number of total internal losses (that's just insane to care about - we know we beat each other up, what's one more or one less?).

If you have one more permanent ACC rival, how does that affect the 9 game conference schedule?

It matters to an individual team. It doesn't matter as a conference.
