LSU returns its entire outfield and shortstop.
This year's catcher was last year's freshman second-line catcher. He has tremendous promise. The 2 backup catchers - one a freshman and one an experienced upper-classman - are very capable.
The remainder of the infield and DH are a combination of backup players from last year, portal transfers and freshmen.
Pitching is deep and experienced. Perhaps not the 1-2 punch of last year, where on a Friday-Saturday you might get 16 innings out of your 2 starters; but a wealth of returning talent. Biggest question may be whether last year's freshmen, now sophomores, make the jump. One portal transfer appears to be the Saturday guy for now, but the vast majority of the pitching is returning LSU guys.

Sounds like LSU is the team to beat again. Can’t wait to get this party started.
