Good morning, everyone! Here are the results from the Week 2 power rankings polls. The only difference was swapping South Carolina and Texas A&M at 11 and 12. The PR Board is slightly higher on A&M than the Community is right now. Do any teams' positions in these polls jump out at you? Why or why not?

Arkansas beat South Carolina. We beat Bobby Petrino's arse like his side pieces fiancé did him.

Auburn Feel like this was the 2022 version of our GA State game last year, but our defense played well enough in the first half to avoid falling behind too far, and our offense made enough adjustments that we didn't need any last minute heroics. Sloppy, sloppy game, still a lot of major question marks on both sides of the ball. Special teams look pretty solid, so at least there's that. Pedo State game could tell a lot about the intermediate-term fate of the Harsin Era at AU. Win convincingly and he should be able to ride out the rest of the season; lose badly and it's pretty much a lid on the coffin. Most likely it will fall somewhere in between

Georgia won easily even though we didn't cover the spread. It was a pretty lackluster performance, but after beating Oregon the week prior it is understandable and forgivable. Gamecocks are next, and I suspect we will be ready for them and hitting on all cylinders to avoid a let down. It'll be fried chicken for Supper, Saturday night.

Mizzou - they played one of the worst games of football I have ever seen. Next is a FCS team, and dammit if I am not entirely sure Mizzou will actually beat them. The team was THAT bad against K-State
quote:
LSU - you can only really give a pass/fail ranking when playing a team as outmatched as Southern and LSU “passed”. The score was 37-0 in the first quarter and LSU was playing walk ons pretty early in the game. Hard to get a read on anything but it was obvious the coaches told Jayden Daniels they wanted him to throw the ball. In limited action he climbed the pocket and kept his eyes down field for the most part. OL, running game, and LBs are still a huge concern for me. For this week, you know what to expect with MSU, but what I don’t know what to expect is which LSU defense shows up. Last year State got a lot of yards but only mustered 25 pts. If LSU can get pressure on Rogers and keep the ball in front of them, then I think LSU still has the athletes to beat State, but the defense has to show up.

Tennessee v. Pittsburgh was an ugly game to watch. Vols started slow and got behind the 8 ball early to a 10-0 deficit. However, they recovered well and led by seven going into the half. In the second half the defense played very well despite getting no help from the offense and two turnovers on special teams. Nonetheless, the offense scored easily in overtime and thanks to a clutch sack Tennessee emerged victorious. Defensive pressure was very good and Pitt had trouble keeping their QBs healthy. Secondary is still suspect. This week we host Akron at home and will likely name our score. On to Florida.

Ole Miss ran wild against Central Arkansas, winning 59-3 while racking up 510 yards of offense and grabbing four turnovers. We played a more complete game this week when compared to our week one performance against Troy. Luke Altmeyer started the game at QB and looked decent most of the way, but sustained some sort of shoulder injury that ended his day early. Jaxson Dart took over and played very well, which to me means that the QB battle is mostly decided. The coaching staff says otherwise, and I bet we won't have an official word until the week before the Kentucky game. This week we get Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets' offense is abysmal and their defense is good-not-great, so I expect we'll win this game by three or four touchdowns, something like 35-10.

Texas A&M - arse, our QB played like arse my dude.

Razorbacks. Arkansas took care of the Gamecocks and moved into the top 10. Next up are the Fighting Petrinos'. Nothing needs to be added

Georgia - Win?

Alabama went on the road to Austin and escaped with a 1 point win over the Texas Longhorns. The offense was asleep at the wheel for 3 quarters, but came alive when the game was on the line. Hopefully this was a learning experience for a young group of WRs and it will propel them forward for the remainder of the season. Next up is a revenge game at home against their nemesis, the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe.

UGA - based on what we have seen this year so far, Dawgs deserve the top spot (for now) - I won’t lie, this feels weird, fun but weird, so THIS is how Bama fans have felt all these years?

Kentucky went to the swamp and beat Florida for the second time in four years and second win in a row. Very fortunate to get Florida early in the season. Offense played a little better, still struggling running the ball. Special teams was terrible. Lots to clean up, but we have Youngstown State coming to town this week, so should be able to work on fundamentals.

Missouri Tigers. WE. DO. NOT. HAVE. A. QUARTERBACK. I don't want to defend the Eli, but its hard to call aggressive plays when your quarterback cannot execute them. He is recruiting line talent (See Logan Reichart) but the lines cannot hold when the defense cheats up because there is no downfield threat. The defense cannot hold when they cannot get off the field. Another problem: I hear whispers that the team wants Horn in. He may not know the playbook, but he can go downfield. ELi is stubborn about playing a freshman QB. BUt if he loses the team over it, it will be his head. And well deserved. Mizzou dead last, and will stay there until I see them beat somebody in conference.

Alabama played like shite. BoB needs to learn how to adjust in game. He does a terrible job scheming his receivers open. Waiting until the last second to get the play in is killing the Oline play and just stressing our offense overall. We do much better when Bryce has time to process presnap and then read and react once the ball is snapped. Our RBs didn’t even get a chance to get into a rhythm. We played very tight which led to a mountain of dumb penalties. I can’t wait for BoB to leave and it sucks he was here for both of Bryce’s years.

Arkansas: Took care of business. Only real cupcake on the schedule is this week before murderers row begins.
quote:
Florida - I have never seen a worse case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to start a season. Anthony Richardson looked unstoppable against Utah, and then, without Kentucky even really doing much to pressure him, he just flat out quit. I have never seen a player wilt like that before. He just looked totally mentally defeated. Florida will only go as far as Anthony Richardson can take them this year. If he plays like he did against Utah, that's pretty far. But basically anyone on the schedule can beat Florida if he repeats that UK performance. I'm super curious to see if he bounces back at all. There is a lot of pressure on that kid. Hometown kid, huge expectations, it might be hard for him to come back from that. They have 1 game against USF to try to right the mental ship before Tennessee. I am not optimistic as of writing this. On the plus side, kicking game and defense were sound. UF only really gave up 10 points to Kentucky on defense. Some obvious holes there, but playing better than I thought they would.

Mizzou should be last.

Hard to argue with those rankings as we stand today. Well done, rantards

Kentucky should maybe be ahead of Arkansas. They beat a better team on the road than Arkansas did at home. Arkansas did handle Cincy week one, so its debatable for sure.
Teams 9-12 will certainly be massively different next week, regardless of who wins.
