Lord…DVH is going to have his hands full managing this roster. Battles drafted and announces he is coming back. Slavens announces he is back. Bishop drafted but announces he is enrolling. Moore back at 2B. Wallace back. Welch back. Stovall is enrolling.

With our stadium and facilities I don’t know why we don’t get more top 250 guys

You just won a national title, it's not going to show up in your recruiting class that was formed up 2+ years ago. Probably wont even see any benefit in the 2022 class much. In fact, MSU has 18 commits already in their 2022 class (only 5 Top 250, and 0 Top 100). Also have 13 commits in the 2023 class. The 2022 class for baseball signs in November this year.

Baseball recruiting - for whatever reason, starts waayyyyy ahead of time of football and basketball for most part. These kids commit as freshmen and sophomores in high school mostly.

Always huge roster turnover in baseball, LSU is currently at 47/40 so 7 current players still need to move on/find a new home.

UGA with only 3 players and all #214 or lower

If you don't recruit top players then none of them can be drafted away from you though.

I don't understand how Mississippi State signee Jack Walker is not rated higher by Perfect Game and be on that list. He ranked #419 yet was named 2021 National High School Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game. He was the ace of a Louisiana team that finished in the top 3 nationally. Does Perfect Game not adjust their rankings after their senior season?

Walker is going to enroll at State this summer.

Replacing 2 once in a generation starters is going to be pretty tough.

MacLeod was not one in a generation, and really Bednar wasn't until the CWS.

Bednar was brilliant in the CWS, but had a 3.53 ERA going into Omaha. He was 7-3 in regular season SEC series games and gave up 4 ER in only 3.0 innings in the Super against Notre Dame (Bednar got the win).

MacLeod pitched really well until the end of the season, but only went past 6 innings twice (7.0 inn at USC and Bama). MacLeod ended with an ERA over 5.

We can't ever hope to have a pitcher in the CWS as good as Bednar pitched this year, but State has had a lot of pitchers who pitched as well as Bednar and MacLeod during the 2021 regular season.
