It will water down the importance of the regular-season games, one of the most attractive aspects of the current college game.

Maybe 6 teams where 2 teams receive a bye. Or maybe, maybe 8 teams. But 12 is too many.

I am a fan of 8 teams

Any team that goes undefeated (Max 1 FCS) and wins their conference championship game gets an autobid

I agree, 6 without auto bids is what it should be.

Such a tired argument. The way it used to be, only about 10 teams had anything meaningful to play for after week 6. The 4 team playoff expanded that to maybe 25 teams.

Max 1 FCS

There’s already a 24 team FCS playoff. Teams like North Dakota State would not forgo. National title in FCS to lose in the FBS playoffs.

Auto bids are a terrible idea.

What a stupid fricking argument. We are in a season where 2 teams, USC and TCU will be taking playoff spots along with potentially Michigan.

None of these teams would survive an SEC schedule to be in the spot they are currently, yet we have to pretend they are some of the Top 4 in the nation.

An expanded playoff allows better teams in that aren’t getting a look currently due to conference parity. It helps thr SEC and will further showcase the other conferences for the fraud that they are

Too many for what?

It’s 11 games. So that’s more money.

Were you under the impression it wasn’t about money?
