Where do we draw the line? We've got 100s of athletes that could be considered famous? As do many SEC schools.

Bart Starr
Joe Namath
Paul "Bear" Bryant
Ozzie Newsome
Harper Lee
Winston Groom (author of Forrest Gump)
Kathryn Stocket (author of The Help)
Robert Horry
Antonio McDyess
Bobby Bowden
Steve Lowery
Bernie Madoff (seriously)
Jim Nabors
George Wallace
oh wait, virtually every governor of Alabama
Timothy Leary, famous drug activist
Jimmy Wales, founder of wikipedia

If you don't know who Harper Lee is, you are an idiot.

Lot of people would recognize Jim Nabors by a picture. He was Gomer Pyle

Harper Lee/ Jim Nabors not so much.

I would be saddened by one, and shocked by the other...if people didn't know these two.

Tom Cherones - Directed Senifield and NewsRadio episodes.

And yes if you don't know who Harper Lee is, shame on you and your uneducated life. Seriously, if you didn't read To Kill a Mocking Bird or even see the damn movie you should return to middle school and finish your education.

If you don't know who Jim Nabors is... TURN ON YOUR TV!
