I'm actually pretty excited about this hire.

Every time we have a coaching search, one thing becomes blatantly obvious very quckly. We don't have an established "coaching tree" of people with MIzzou connections. Therefore we are always looking at guys who will think of the job as a stepping stone. We need to establish a coaching tree for guys with MIzzou connections so that we can become a destination job for them. By all accounts, Kim Anderson knows his shite about basketball, and I think he is the perfect guy to mentor some of those coaches. Perhaps Fuller, Kim English, and Anthony Peeler? I think this will end up being a very good thing for the program. That's just my two cents.

As long as they get and/or retain some of those guys.
ETA AND I AM SOOOOOO DONE WITH MIZZOU BBALL. Unless they start to win and I will be all over it.
ETA 2 shite wrong thread

Just give it a chance man. I think we'll be just fine.

If I am wrong then I will gladly admit it. But I don't see anything aside from mediocrity coming from this hire.

I was one of the disappointed ones too when I found out they hired him. What amazes me is some of the sane posters here are ripping this hire to shreads. Yeah he has no D1 head coaching experience, I get that, but it doesn't equate to certain failure.
I'm not old, but old enough to remember alot of the Norm years, the good and the bad. I will support this hire, even though I wanted someone else. Not because Kim is part of the Norm years, but because he is Missouri born and bred. He may have a better idea than an outsider on how to turn around this program. It's worth a shot, and this was probably his last chance to coach at his alma mater.
There is no doubt he can coach, the question is the recruiting. I hope he surrounds himself with a good staff, and you never know, maybe some of those high rated Missouri boys we missed on in the past will stay home to play at Mizzou. He is a very personable man, honest, and alot of integrity, something parents will like and appreciate.
I'm not going to get into this full melt down mode some on here are engaging in. If you don't want to support the basketball program, fine, it's your choice. Hate Alden? I get it. I just think as a fan base, we should circle the wagons and give a True Son some support and you never know, he may surprise us all.
