Nursing...

Which practically and in the work force is easy as shite... But the intricacies of the pathophysiology behind it is so far surpassed beyond the real life use

That and the instructors are so anal about stuff that (long story short) I missed two questions based solely on I didn't answer it the exact way she wanted it even though I showed full comprehensive knowledge on both topics

I mean the questions involved the flow of blood through the body... I could answer that question in the 6th grade...

Were you the one with a test yesterday? Or was that Doc?

I had mine today. A 96. Shea didn't hinder me as much as I thought.

That is RN instructors every where. They have a tendency to always think they are being looked down upon by physicians/surgeons. Thus they think they have to run RN Gestapo boot camp. You just have to figure out what they want, regurgitate it, pass and move on. Half the BS they teach doesn't apply in the real world (trust me been in med device sales almost 15 years and hear the same thing every 6 months from a fresh batch on RN students)

I tried to just power through it for years. I would eat some ribs and then spent the rest of the night throwing up and shitting. Week later repeat.

I finally got enough of that though

Ha it honestly wouldn't bother me if I wasn't trying to just pass cause that'd be easy enough.... But I'm trying to be an anesthetist and pulling a 4.0/3.8 they nursing school would give me a strong look on my resume

If that is the route you want to go then yeah the GPA is essential because the competition is so stiff. Don't forget it is only part of the equation. Get the grades but get on for a couple years at a trauma center ICU (preferably a level 1 and even better an NSICU because so much medical intervention for TBIs is anesthesiology). When you get near graduating hit me up and I will hook you up.

* Edit: unless you considering some of the newer programs I have heard about that immediately accept new grad RNs

I'll absolutely take you up on that

And all programs I've seen require at least one to two years in critical care... Southern actually has a CRNA school so I'm trying to get to know that sections administrators

I heard there is a school up in TN that is starting to take brand new RN grads. Personally think that is crazy because the intent of the 2 years of crit care experience is really all about making sure someone doesn't loose their shyiat when a pt goes South.
