I think that's a huge overreaction. Houston Nutt is a weak recruiter with serious micro managing issues, and imo didn't ever really want to be at Ole Miss from day 1 anyways. it's not coincidental Nutt is still unemployed. That was just a really bad hire on multiple levels, and I still can't believe Boone actually felt like he was a good hire at the time.

You guys just need new blood in the programs with assistants and will be fine.

Your current state with Freeze is eerily similar to LSU basketball and Johnny Jones. Both coaches are at their dream schools, excellent recruiters, built the programs from the ground up, but both seem to have some alarming x's and o's philosophies. However, as a loyal basketball fan I just keep perspective of the days of being completely irrelevant. At this point I can't help but keep faith Jones will figure it out, and I'm sure you guys feel the same about Freeze

Strangely enough, Dave Wommack was fired as DC at Arkansas by Houston Nutt. Coaching is such a small world.

1. Wommack: had a very good D last despite the offense not being able to sustain drives. The offense is not sustaining drives again and we lost Pruitt, Golson, and Connor.
2. Werner: he is a glorified qb coach but does a pretty good there w/ Bo, Chad, and recruiting of Pelerin and Patterson. Do we lose Patterson if Werner goes?
3. The '13 class was top heavy but pretty damn good for Freeze's second class and by our standards.

The only change that absolutely has to happen is Luke. The rest may work itself out w/ a better oline.

Just because we want to hire an OC doesn't mean we have to get rid of Werner

Very strong possibility. Not sure how we can "fit" a true OC into the equation with "on field" coaching limitations. The one thing that has to happen is an upgrade to the OL Coach.

Absolutely. Getting rid of Luke is much more important that all the other staff changes combined.

I think Nov 4 is a big day for Matt luke. If Little commits to us it buys him time until NSD to gain some extra job security. If Little commits elsewhere I saw we fire his arse that day

Frankly, Patterson should say the OL coaching worries him.
