He did not want to be a head coach. But this year, he really convinced Carter. Apparently he had a very detailed plan on how he would change things. That's how Freeze won the job too, I may add.

well if we didn’t give it at least some thought in 2024 we would’ve been pretty fricked. Echoles & Franklin are NFL linemen. And you can throw in Perkins from the year prior. Yes, we shouldn't focus strictly on in state and should be going nationwide for talent, but MS recruiting is still very important.

And I think you can argue this hasn’t been our greatest ever 3 year stretch, but that’s not what this is about.

Sounds like Pete was already acting as the HC thru out this season.. From everything that is coming out..
