Ok to clarify this up I enjoyed being in the student section drunk listening to From Dixie With Love and screaming out with all my fellow students TSWRA ...
To me this represented how Ole Miss and Mississippi and Southerners have been shite on for so long that there would come a day that this would not be so ... That one day we would all "RISE" above this NOT let's bring back segregation and racism and all that shite.
What I forgot to say in my first post is that these things mean very different things to a lot of people. For me being an optimist I saw the best out of these things, not the negative. But with too many all that they could see was the negative connotations.
That is why after graduating and not being wrapped up in it as much as I was in school I could really see how much these little things hurt the school. And if I wanted to see my dream of Ole Miss being more than what it was those things had to go to make way for a better future.
I will always hold the Colonel & From Dixie With Love close to my heart but as long as I want continue success from Ole Miss. I will never think twice about having to give them up and I will embrace the future and look forward to better days.
Any of you with me on this?
ETA: I know TL;DR - Different stuff means different things to different people. More people saw the bad in those things that's why OM got rid of it. I accept this and embrace it because all I want is to see OM become better than it is now.
