Reed isnt a early enrollee. He wont get here till May or June. Which is why getting Hooks is so important.
Correct... my mistake. Still have a lot more than four that we can count back

We signed 19 last year, shouldnt we have 6 to count back? Leaving us with 31 to sign this year and Brassell doesnt count?
Walk on corner and kicker take two of the six spots away. We can only sign 29

I've seen that we can take as many as 34 this year. I was under the persumption that it was 31 with 6 EE.
Why would a walk on DB matter? We dont have to give him a scholly right? Those are year to year. Terrell Brown(6'10" OL) just got a scholly this year.

I'm sorry for continuing this on and on but Texas A&M has like 35 commits right now. They are obviously counting back more than 4.

The limit of kids you can sign is 25. If you sign less than that then the following year you can count back to fulfill that 25 class limit as long as its within the calendar year (dec grads). OM signed 19 last year, which gives them room to sign 6 back. By sign I mean offer a kid who joined the team last year a scholorship before a new class in signed. Last year we GS a kicker and had a walkon JUCO corner join the team. The corner was awarded a scholarship during the season as did the kicker. Since both joined OM in '12 those scholarships that we awarded them will count towards the '12 class. Terrell Brown didn't join the team in '12 therefore his awarded scholarship only counted towards the 85. With the kicker and corner getting scholarships, that moves us from signing 19 to signing 21. 25-21=4. That's how many we can sign that will count back

Question: why would we let him sign financial aid papers if we weren't 100% on the kid?
Valid question. It's like if you're currently dating a girl but one you're more interested in is showing you some strong interest. You wouldn't drop old girl until you were for sure that the new one was a lock. What Davil did was give our coaches a chance to show him how bad they want him and our coaches didnt show him any love. We talked to him one time in the past two weeks and that was to send him his FA papers. If we really wanted this kid we would have fought for him. Freeze's track record proves this. I know everyone wants to be pessimistic when it comes to things like this because it sounds like spin but just wait and see who we sign to replace him and that will explain a lot. Nothing's for sure in recruiting but look how Freeze recruits. He doesn't give up on kids who he wants

That's a lot of words to say he didn't have a committable offer
