No, the Orange Bowl will take an ACC regardless. If GT loses, FSU is in playoff and GT will get Orange Bowl. If GT wins, FSU will likely be out of playoff but they'll still both get NY6 bowls.

Going over Arizona's schedule . . .

Their two quality wins are about as good as our two best (Oregon & Arizona State). We have an additional good win versus Boise State.

Two of their losses are comparable to ours (to USC & UCLA). Their 3rd loss -- a blowout to the #2 team in the championship game -- is better than our shutout loss to a 6-6 team.

Plus, if the committee considers stuff like this, the Fiesta Bowl would love to have Arizona.

tl;dr: we might not jump Arizona despite the Oregon blowout.

We really need Baylor & Ohio State to win.

I can't see the committee putting a 3-loss Kansas State over us with our wins. So we should be in.

No chance, even for state. Orange goes to ACC and highest ranked B1G or SEC non-champion...in this case that is Michigan State

We should finish ranked 9 or 10 (depending on how far Arizona drops) and end up in either the Cotton or Peach.

Georgia could sneak in too.

Damn, didn't even think about this

'SEC bias' lol

In this case, SEC might get an orange bowl bid- I don't see the committee sticking any SEC team in the fiesta

The top 6 will stay the same (perhaps in a different order). Boise State & GT will get NY6 bids. That leaves 4 teams, which will likely be: Michigan State, Miss State, Ole Miss, Arizona.

If Ohio State makes the playoff, Michigan State will get paired with GT in the Orange, Zona will get paired with Boise State in Fiesta, you could have Baylor-Ole Miss and Miss State-TCU in the other two.

Ole Miss or State will get Michigan State if Ohio State doesn't make the playoff (I think).

We'll know soon enough.

Top 10 for both is not bad, at all.

CBS sez Peach & TCU for UM;

Cotton & Baylor for State...

I wouldn't want to play Baylor or TCU. They will be pissed about not making the playoff.

Texas Tech was pissed about not being in the NC when we played them in the Cotton Bowl in '09, and we ran them out of the stadium.
