My opinion is that if he can't make the tournament with this team he never will. If he makes it then he keeps his job at least util the new arena is built.

Almost any coach in the league could have made it with this team. If we don't make it this year there is a 200% chance we never will with Kennedy. We're going to suck next year regardless of who's coaching. If he doesn't get us there this year then he better be fired before he leaves the court. At least we can start a new foundation with someone else since next year will be rough anyway.
And we're not making the dance this year, and even if we do (which I would be willing to bet pank $100 that we don't) it doesn't change my opinion of him. We should be a 6-7 seed with this team, and are hoping for a 12 seed.

It means I've seen this movie many times, and I'm not gonna fall for it again. As of now we probably have the third most talented team in the a TERRIBLE SEC, I'm talking about the only guy averaging a double double, the leading scorer in the conference, and the leading shot blocker in school history. All of that, and we lose to Texas A&M and fricking South Carolina, a team that the worst team in SEC history was able to defeat. And when do these losses come? Oh you know, just the second half of conference play, when you should really be building your tournament resume and gaining momentum. But it's ok, AK teams have never choked towards the end of the stretch, right?
Indiana has lost three times this season when they are number 1 to an unranked team.
shite happens.

I don't disagree with any of this. It will take no less than 2 years to rebuild after losing Holloway and Buckner. If we don't make it this season, then I'll be the first in line to bid AK farewell.

True, it does, but if I stepped in shite 7 times in a row I would probably buy some new shoes.

yeah...and Freeze should have beaten A&M, LSU, and Vandy.
Let's fire Freeze while we're at it.

The OM baskeball program is shite historically. We are actually competitive but stuck in mediocracy. Is the Tad Pad the reason why? I have no clue, but AK will have done as well as anyone we have had if he can get us in this year. We can't just discount that, even though our style of play makes us want to puke.

Stop being dense. Freeze was expected to win 3-4 games this season, and all of those team you mentioned were superior to ours.
How in the actual frick does that compare to losing to USCe and aTm in basketball? Teams faaaar inferior to our basketball team.

and many expect AK to only get .500 in SEC play and 20 or 21 wins.

I don't know why reading this made me laugh but it just did.

Not this season. Most of us were calling this an NCAA team before the season, and once conference play began and we realized how terrible the league was it only made it absolutely mandatory that we make the dance, and should be getting a 6-7 seed.

Every bit of this. We seem to be playing more as a team offensively this season compared to seasons' of past. AK has had to learn and grow as a HC much like many new coaches do. I'm no more happy than you are that it came at the expense of a handful of season failures.
AK of a few years ago would have had Henderson running the point like he did Warren. Like I said....i'm with you that it's either now or never with AK. If he hasn't learned enough yet, then we don't need to invest any more into him.

I don't recall this at all. We didn't know what all we had other than Murph coming back. Buckner had a poor season, Jalen got the boot, Nick Williams was hot and cold, Snoop was still young, etc. And no one had any idea that Hendo would come in and light it up.

I know no one on the Rant pays attention to your bullshite anymore , Pank... But that doesn't make it ok to troll your own fan base on the OM board... I cant believe that you would post some bullshite like this... You have obviously fallen on dark times and I feel sorry for you.

Most of us were, it happened. Henderson was Juco player of the year and we knew for the most part what we were getting from him, which was the only thing we were lacking last season, a dangerous outside scorer. We had all the pieces in place this season, nothing more could have realistically been asked for.

Dude, if you can't see the sarcasm in that post, I don't know what to tell you.
I'm not defending Panks position, but that post was about as clear an instance of sarcasm as is possible.

c'mon mayn. That's not true. Most objective people knew this was a good year and most likely, a dance year.

He's trolling but I really don't know why. He's acting like a more articulate Bundy, and he should be ashamed.

Very good point

Nah, I wouldn't classify it as trolling, but he is getting all devils advocate up in this bitch.
I think he's got a point that this season CAN be used as an indicator that AK is "improving" and it would look silly to fire a guy who's overall and conference record are better (assuming we win 1 more regular season game and 1 in the SECT) than any previous year. I think the point most of us are making (in different ways) is that it's too little too late.
We believe that had AK been a good/great coach over the past 6 years, we would not be on the bubble right now. We'd be solidly IN the dance, a strong #2 in the SEC and a lock for the S16 this year.
We are FAR from it, and barring a miraculous S16 run (which is not out of the question, just HIGHLY improbable), we all feel ripped off, abused and generally disgruntled.
