Yeah and nobody but dumbass Boone and Khyat ever gave him a DC position much less HC.
Nutt was pretty good winning two, count 'em, two, Cotton Bowls. He was a lazy recruiter though. O thinks he would have done the same if we didn't unfairly fire him. O is dead wrong. Bottom line is he coaches at LSU now so screw him.

I feel like you guys lost a lot of close, tough games during the back end of Coach O's time there. I think firing him was justified, but you can understand why he's frustrated he never got to coach the 2008 team. Also look at Gary pinkel's time at mizzou. After 6 seasons his best season was 8-5.

The talent he brought in was so impressive. He was only our coach for three years and these are the players he put in the NFL:
John Jerry (2010-present NFL starter)
Peria Jerry (first round pick in 2009)
Michael Oher (first round pick in 2009, starting for Carolina)
Jerrell Powe (2011-present in NFL and started some for Houston)
Mike Wallace (2009-present NFL starter and 2011 Pro Bowler)
Greg Hardy (2010-present NFL starter and 2013 Pro Browler)
Kendrick Lewis (2010-present, starts for Baltimore)
Dexter McCluster (2010-present and 2013 Pro Bowler)
Cassius Vaughn (2010-present and started some with Colts)
Ashlee Palmer (2009-2015 and started some with Lions)
Bradley Sowell (2012-present and started with Cardinals)
Marshay Green (2010-2013 NFL player)
That doesn't include great college players like Shay Hodge, Kentrell Lockett, Marcus Tillman, Allen Walker, Jonathan Cornell, etc. Coach O assembled a pretty damn talented team in those three years for Houston Nutt to underachieve with.

LSU's DL has 14.5 sacks alone this season, when the entire defense had 19 all of last season. That's after losing two starters on the line and zero DE depth this season. But okay, sure. That's one of the dumbest posts you've ever seen on here. Coach O knows nothing about technique and coaching up linemen. Noted.
This has a lot more to do with the new DC and the scheme he runs than anything Orgeron is doing. Orgeron can evaluate the shite out of talented football players, but no one has ever mentioned him as a good coach that wasn't a fan of the team he is coaching. He just isn't a good coach, period. He finds a shite load of talent and yells at them a lot. Boom good DL that sends people to the NFL. I'm sure it has nothing to do with them mostly being 4 and 5 star guys that everyone already knew had a good shot to make it.
