Why does winning recruiting not matter (as you posted on the recruiting board)
Never said that. This is what I stated. "I've never really cared to much about recruiting due to the fact that y'all have beaten us every year in it and we still find ways to beat y'all on the field (not a flame)."

but it's a bad thing to not win it (as you posted on this board)?
I was making a joke about y'alls ban bet....

You said you've won 4 out of the last five when we out recruited you all of those years
Never said that. All I said was I don't care about recruiting and who wins in state that much because we are still gonna win egg bowls regardless, that's just how it works in football. I think you are making me out to be a bad guy/poster/engie that I'm not trying to be

Id like to add that the season is 12 full games, not 1. Recruiting matters and its stupid to say it doesn't. Can Alabama or LSU lose a game? Sure, but they will win a whole lot more than they lose because they are deep with talent that they recruit. The egg bowl will always be a battle and won by the home team mostly, but in order to have more successful seasons, both state and ole miss have to recruit the talent to do it. That's what it is about, not just the super egg bowl...

Also, WIO, when are you and engie going to realize that your love for one another is real?

I mean I'm not about to tell you differently, but WIO and engie seem to be the same person with different colors on their shirts.

Engie is Edumucated

I think we recruit better and that we will get the majority of kids we want from inside the state because we usually do. Engie thinks they will based on the blatant optimism. I argue with him because of the past results being fact, while he argues against the trend. It would be like me arguing with Tennessee fans that we are going to out recruit them because we did in '13 class an our team has been better in the previous few seasons when they traditionally recruit better and have more resources. We are the same person in regards to loving to argue, especially with each other. We both have a problem in that regard. Theres a reason that all OM fans and the majority of state fans dislike Engie while that same distaste is not at least publicly displayed against me. That there should show the difference in the two of us.

I'd say it's pretty evenly split, until there is a class that has a couple OL that are in the top 5. For whatever reason, we can't seem to win those battles, so in those years I think you are correct.

Saying that State vs. Ole Miss in recruiting is the same as Ole Miss vs. Tennessee, I just couldn't agree with. Tennessee, outside of the hole that they are currently in, recruits in the top 5 of the country, which is something that Ole Miss or State will never do consistently and I just don't think there is a huge disparity in our recruiting most years. The reason this seems like a off-basis comment is because of the Croom years, which is almost the full scope of what our generation equates to Mississippi State football. Even in the bad years that y'all have had the recruiting has still been pretty good.
We've had our disagreements in the past but it's not like I hate you man.

As far as the two flips last night, I think most people saw Linton coming. Johnson was a little more of a shock, but not completely.
I think they were probably already going to Ole Miss, and with State's recent momentum in getting a couple good commitments in the past few days it was a good move to take some of it back with these guys going public. It's a good strategy, but it's not like people didn't see it coming eventually.

The gap between OM and States classes since Freeze has been here is the same gap that was last year and this current year with UT an OM. Do you not agree with that or should I get out the numbers and prove it to you?

I thought your analogy was this:
OM <--- State
Tenn <--- OM
I guess I didn't understand you correctly. Also, I thought we were talking about a longer time span than 2 years, which is why I brought up Croom, and that Tennessee is not the Tennessee of old. (Who knows if they ever actually get back there).
See I knew we could have a legit discussion.

Yea and after this weekend we should know if Trail, Menschew, or Davis will receive a scholarship offer.
Ugo is in Baltimore for the 5 star challenge and he thinks we have the best chance of getting Kyle Phillips out of our targets in TN. He got interviewed by a guy trying his hardest to get him to say his recruitment is open, but he held strong and said he's 100% OM and that's where he was going. He recently received a LSU offer.
Ofadile's interview in Baltimore was not encouraging. People think that Michigan St. now leads for him. He said he will commit in the middle of August after he visits 3 schools (ND, UK, PSU). No mention of us at all. Hopefully he will make another trip or postpone his announcement. He and Lodge are our top WRs and they both look to commit early in the summer which is not good for us.
Yancy said the number of commitments we have room for is even lower than expected. It's at 15 but everyone expects two players to leave making the number 17 and still a possibility of a couple more leaving, but it appears 19 is the max number with 17 being the most probable. Fred Walls will not stick if that in true, but that's my opinion. Meaning any commitment we take is someone we really want.

It's not as for sure that Tee will be here in July. Not a lost cause by any means, just not as certain as we were a month ago. I could be wrong though
