The only loophole is if his mother hands over custody and Guardianship to his uncle. Is she doesn't, he had to go to school where she lives. OM ain't above h MHSAA

Oh, okay, so we can still recruit him and still get him to sign an LOI come spring. Not worried then.

that doesn't answer the question tard ferguson.

Actually it was the answer I was looking for.

Coonass said he was "ineligible" and that's it. "Okay, ineligible to do what, exactly?" was what I was asking. Ineligible to play? Ineligible to sign an LOI? Ineligible for a McDonald's Monopoly game prize?

One way I'm evaluating Freeze is his ability to evaluate players. We are never going to constantly recruit with the big 5 (We can with UT), but if we properly evaluate talent and character, which will eliminate a lot of misses, he can build a solid program.

Last year, one of Freeze's biggest targets was the Bourque kid that went to UT. Yancy and Neil both said that we would have landed him, but Freeze passed on him because "he didn't fit into what we wanted to do here", so he ended up at UT. Now if you would have said that here then da coon and friends would have blasted you for believing all of Yancy's lies and why would Freeze pass on such a talented RB, when we are so thin there. Yancy and Neil both agreed that the Akaail(sp) kid who went to PSU was a huge target for Freeze and we lost out on him, so there is balance, they dont say we didn't want every player that doesn't choose OM.

Now Bourque is no longer a Vol and it seems Freeze was correct in his assessment. He also signed three low ranked players in the Youngblood, Core, and Burdette, who have all shined in camp, especially the last two. So far it seems Freeze has a good eye for talent and character and I will continue to be intrigued by players we pass on. Another one to keep and eye on is Jake Meador vs Robert Conyers. Freeze passed on Meador to make room for Conyers. A four star swap for a three star makes Bundy's mind explode, but looking at the two it's obvious Conyers fits our system more. It will be interesting to see how they pan out.

This staff has got to be able to tell the difference between a Tobias and Moncrief

Great points.

I am just very encouraged by Freeze's eye for talent and the effort he will put forth to develop that talent. He isnt some wishy-washy pussy like Nutt. If you dont wanna do it his way, he'll give you a chance to change but after that it's "see ya later".

Yes there will be bumps in the road due to his inexperience, that's expected. But I believe he will bring in talent and put a solid product on the field that is mentally and physically prepared to go compete every saturday.

Omaha, how many freshman do you expect OM to play this year? I figure Mathers and Ward'll be in, but other then that I'm not sure. Will Gross or Elston contribute?

Mathers, Ward, Gross, Elston, Burdette, and Walton should all see good action.

It's hard to say. Freeze, unlike Nutt, is against true freshmen playing. He told them all if he had it his way he'd RS them all, but we simply can't do that.

If I had to guess... Ward, Mathers, Gross, Elston, and Walton will play. When Freeze was asked earlier in camp he said 5-6 guys. One issue is that Conyers is now the second team LT, which is why Mitch Hall transferred to Mizzo and Still is second team center. Now that's a bit misleading because it something happened to either starting tackles, Junen would replace them and if something happened to Swindal, then Hawkins would replace him and Justin Bell would jump in at RG. So I'm not sure with those two if they will RS or not. What I do know is that if it's possible Freeze will do it. So to answer your question 5-8 guys will play and the rest will RS

We just got wind that an OL recruit, Mitch Hall (2011) just transfered from Ole Miss to Mizzou.

Is there some story behind this young man or problems at Ole Miss that he got an unconditional release to go to another SEC team?

Just hunting for some info, seems strange.

Thanks.

Seems like a good player but just didnt fit our system and his brother had to leave the program as well. Alo of folks speculated that he may leave.

Solid player, just didnt fit our scheme.

He's a good kid, just doesn't fit our system. In the spring he was third string LT, but worked real hard and was second team LT at the start of camp. But during camp a true freshman passed him up and we have two very solid OT signed in this class so it appeared he wasn't going to play. Not saying he can't be very good, he just doesn't fit our high tempo offense. He signed with OM because his brother followed Nutt from arky to OM. His brother was kicked off the team when Freeze got here because of roids. So with him gone and not fitting our system he decided to leave. Best of luck to him

Good info, thanks.

Props to Ole Miss for doing the classy thing for a young man like that.

Dont see that too often.

Thats not true at all. It's just that Yancy spews some much bullshite, you never know if he is actually telling the truth or not. By saying Yancy is full of shite, I'll be right much more than wrong.

Your post was dead on- evaluating talent will make or break Freee- provided he is given 4 years to get things turned around. You guys dont exactly have a history of patience. Its what has made Mullen so successful to this point. Mullen inherited a slightly better situation than Freezus, this year is going to be a tough one. His biggest job IMO is holding the class together in Feb after such a terrible season. If he does that, then you guys may start to make some headway

The best way to describe him is big, strong, and not all that athletic.

Freeze likes tackles that can move. He'll start a 6'2", 290 pound tackle who can scoot over a 6'5", 330 pound guy who can't.
